ETBU is proud to announce the opening of the William B. Dean, M.D. Center for Language and Literacy Development, a no-cost clinic offering speech-language pathology services to the East Texas community. Located at Synergy Park in downtown Marshall, the clinic will begin serving clients on Monday, August 25, providing care for individuals of all ages with communication, language-literacy, speech, and cognitive challenges.

We see this everyday in our counseling offices. Parent alert 🚨 🚨🚨‼️‼️‼️🔔🔔🔔

ER nurse quote:

“In 2024/2025 su***de has been 2nd leading cause of death in 10-14 year olds and 9th leading cause in 5-9 year olds - my last suicidal patient was 8 years old and despite my teams best efforts in the er we were unable to revive her - TALK TO YOUR KIDS AND LISTEN TO THEM !!!

Before the school year begins, take just five minutes. 5 minutes to TALK to them. Remind them it’s never okay to mock someone’s body, skin, clothes, or the food they bring. Explain that not every classmate has new shoes, a clean outfit, or someone waiting at home with a hug or food. Let them know that the quiet kid might be carrying heavy things not everyone can see. That school should be a place to learn and be kind. That teasing leaves real scars, even if it sounds like “just joking.”
Just 5 minutes.
Because kindness isn’t random.
It’s taught.
It’s modeled.
It starts at home.
It starts with you.”

And if you haven’t taught them to bully TikTok and social media certainly have. Monitor their texts, chats and social media accounts or remove them. More children die from the mental deterioration caused by social media than guns and car wrecks. Each year. I bet you wouldn’t give them a gun or car without teaching them how to use it. Need help?
