Happy Saturday, everyone!

Today, we’re going to talk about hamstring injuries. They take a very long time to heal and If not taken care of properly, they may never recover at 💯. They will scar over, lose its flexibility, and can potentially impact the low back. We have a professional soccer player from Germany who came all the way to US and me to take care of her injured hamstring. After 6 sessions of PT in conjunction with Dry Needling , she made 80% of progress and on the way to full recovery 🧡! Call us for appointments, early intervention is the key!

This interesting case makes you wonder about so many things. This patient’s right thoracic curve (3CR) is 55 degrees and most likely was developed in adolescence (as patient mentioned that she always felt that she wasn’t straight but never had it checked out by Doctor). Furthermore!!! At 63 y/o, it progressed tremendously and she presented to me with very significant left lean, pain in the lumbar spine, and inability to stand up straight and difficulty functioning. Patient is highly motivated and is working hard in PT and you can see this amazing progress in pictures just in 3 sessions. This patient graciously volunteered these pictures and her story as she wants to create awareness!
-Scoliosis affects 3% of all population
-It’s absolutely critical that yearly scoliosis screenings are performed for your kids, especially ages 9-14.
-Early intervention (Schroth PT and Bracing if indicated) can make a world of difference.

Happy chilly Monday, everyone!❄️☃️
Today let’s talk about posterior tibial tendonitis-that is a common problem that occurs when the tendons on the inner side of the ankle become damaged. The posterior tibial tendon helps support the arch of the foot while walking and running. The symptoms include:
❄️pain, swelling and tenderness along the inner (medial) side of the ankle and foot
❄️ankle roll inward/falling arch
❄️pain and difficulty pointing toes inward ❄️difficulty and pain with walking
❄️pain and difficulty standing on your toes ❄️pain that increases with running, jumping, or climbing
In addition, if left untreated and symptoms exacerbate, one can be risking potential rupture of the tendon.

Today we will talk about Vestibular Rehabilitation!
VR-is a Specialty in Physical Therapy field that treat symptoms such as:
🌸vertigo ( spinning sensation ie room spinning)
🌸dizziness: at rest or dizziness in busy environments/with movement
🌸nausea, vomiting, fatigue
🌸feeling off balance /difficulty walking
🌸headaches

Vestibular diagnosis can be complex and often

On this picture, Gufoni maneuver is performed by Irina, for patient with horizontal canal, ageotropic BPPV. After only 1 visit, patient felt 75% improvement in symptoms of position related vertigo, feeling off balance, dizziness with bending forward, heaviness/fuzziness in the head, difficulty concentrating.

Happy 🍁 leafy and pumpkin spice 🍁Monday! Hope you all enjoying this beautiful fall season!
Today’s topic is pain referral patterns and Dry Needling treatment for the most commonly involved muscles in Cervicogenic Headaches -Upper Trapezius and Sternocleidomastoid (SCM). Any changes in those muscles traumatic (ie whiplash/neck injury), or not (ie poor posture/stress) can cause development of trigger points. If trigger points are active, it can cause pain locally in the muscle; and, additionally refer pain away in the form of a headache.
Dry Needling treatment releases Trigger Points and improves the blood flow to the area, causing muscles to heal and symptoms of pain and headache to decrease.
