👀 If you wear contact lenses and wake up with a painful, red eye, discharge, or blurry vision, don’t ignore it. That white or gray spot you’re seeing could be more than irritation.

A corneal abrasion is a small scratch on the surface of the eye—but if there’s deeper damage or infection, it may be a corneal ulcer (infectious keratitis). This is essentially an open sore on the cornea, where bacteria or other microbes invade and cause infection. Because the cornea is the clear “window” of your eye, keeping it healthy is essential for clear vision.

🚨 Bottom line: Eye pain + redness + vision changes = get checked ASAP. Early treatment matters.

✨ Brighter. More Open. Well-Rested. ✨

A blepharoplasty is a simple outpatient eyelid procedure designed to refresh your appearance by:

• Making a discreet incision in the natural eyelid crease

• Removing excess skin

• Repositioning or resculpting fat for a smoother, more youthful contour

The result? Eyes that look more vibrant, open, and naturally well-rested—without changing what makes you you.

If heavy or tired-looking eyelids are holding back your confidence, this procedure may be the subtle reset you’ve been looking for.

Noticing a stubborn bump on your eyelid that won’t go away? It could be a chalazion 👁️
A chalazion happens when an oil gland in the eyelid gets blocked, leading to a swollen bump that can cause redness, puffiness, and sometimes tenderness. While it may look similar to a stye, a chalazion usually forms on the inside of the eyelid and often isn’t caused by infection.
The good news? Most chalazia are treatable — and you don’t have to deal with the discomfort alone. At Milan Eye Center, our eye care specialists can evaluate your symptoms and recommend the right treatment to help you see and feel better.

Your vision matters—especially if you’re living with diabetes 👁️💙

Diabetic Retinopathy is the most common diabetic eye disease and a leading cause of vision loss in adults. It occurs when high blood sugar damages the tiny blood vessels in the retina, sometimes causing them to leak fluid or bleed.

There are two types:

• Nonproliferative retinopathy (early stage)

• Proliferative retinopathy (advanced stage, more serious)

🚨 Early warning signs can include:

• Floaters

• Blurry or distorted vision

• Dark or empty areas in your sight

• Trouble seeing colors clearly

The good news? Most retina problems are treatable, especially when caught early. Even if your vision feels fine, a yearly dilated retina exam is essential for protecting your sight long-term.

If you have diabetes, don’t wait—be proactive about your eye health.

👁️✨ When it comes to vision correction, LASIK and EVO ICL are both safe, proven options—but they work in very different ways.

LASIK reshapes the cornea using a precision laser to help light focus properly on the retina. It’s quick, effective, and permanent, but it does depend on corneal thickness and may not be ideal for those with thin or irregular corneas or chronic dry eyes.

EVO ICL, on the other hand, improves vision by placing a soft, flexible lens inside the eye—without altering the cornea. Because nothing is removed, it’s often a great option for higher prescriptions, thinner corneas, or dry eyes, and it offers a reversible alternative for patients who want long-term flexibility.

Not sure which option fits your eyes, lifestyle, and future goals?

The doctors at Milan Eye Center are here to guide you every step of the way.
