Your “mystery knee pain” might not be coming from your knee 👀
The popliteus muscle (that small muscle behind your knee) plays a huge role in stabilizing and unlocking the knee—but when it’s tight or irritated, it can signal deeper imbalances.
Here’s where it gets interesting ⬇️
In holistic and functional perspectives, the popliteus is often connected to the gallbladder pathway. When the gallbladder is stressed (think poor fat digestion, sluggish bile flow, or diet-related strain), it can show up as tension or discomfort behind the knee.
💡 What this could look like:
• Tightness or pain behind or on the outside of the knee
• Difficulty fully straightening the leg
• Lingering knee discomfort with no clear injury
If this issues gets cleared out and keeps coming back, then instead of just chasing the symptom, we want to look at why it keeps coming back.
