Here's the tree metaphor for Birth Prep today:

Roots
• Faith
• Values
• Foundation

Trunk
• Preparation
• Strength
• Direction

Ladder (you climb together)
• Practice
• Application
• Action

Branches
• Readiness
• Trust
• Expectation

Leaves / Fruit (future season)
• Birth
• Flourishing
• Postpartum

A strong tree doesn’t start with branches. It starts underground ❤️

A strong tree doesn’t start with branches. It starts underground ❤️

1. The roots—hidden but essential—are a Christian woman’s values and faith, drawing nourishment from God’s truth.
They ⚓️ her when questions, opinions, and uncertainty swirl around pregnancy.

2. The trunk is Birth Preparation 🔡
It’s where strength and direction are formed.

Through thoughtful, faith-centered birth prep, a woman and her husband gain stability—so they’re not just reacting to pregnancy care, but moving through it with purpose.

3. Step by step, they begin to climb 🪜

Those handmade ladder rungs are the ways they actively apply what they’re learning—asking better questions, making intentional care decisions, and practicing the mindset they’ll carry into labor.

4. And then there are the branches.

Right now they stretch outward, bare. They haven’t experienced labor yet. But they’re ready—🏁 positioned to receive what’s coming.

5. Just like branches reaching toward the light, their preparation positions them to meet birth with faith, strength, and clarity.
When the season comes, leaves and fruit will follow—the lived experience of birth and the flourishing that comes in the postpartum season after walking through it with God at the center.

• Faith prepares the roots.
• Preparation strengthens the trunk.
• Intentional action builds the ladder and
• Readiness grows the branches for the season of birth ahead.

“I almost forgot… this was the whole point.”

Somewhere between appointments and policies, it can start to feel clinical.
Reactive.
Focused only on risk or interventions.

Either there’s no real conversation because you’re “low-risk”…
OR every conversation is about what could go wrong.

And yet Scripture reminds us this is sacred.

Genesis 1:27–28 shows us that fruitfulness and multiplication were part of God’s design from the beginning.

Ephesians 5:31–32 reminds us that marriage itself reflects something profound and holy.

Pregnancy isn’t just a medical event.
It’s a spiritual milestone in a husband and wife’s story.

Biblical Birth Prep helps you come back to the point—uniting you in reverence toward God and equipping you to be proactive in conversations, even if your provider isn’t.

Because honoring the sacred doesn’t mean avoiding wisdom.

It means stepping into both—together. 🤍

What if…

God’s Word could bring you safety in pregnancy regardless of the challenges you’re facing?

✝️ Romans 8 & 1 Corinthians 13 provide excellent comforts when faced with uncertain outcomes.

However big or small uncertainty may feel, God has spoken to you in His Word for moments like this one!

Let me help you hold fast, cling to Him today.

"If you have gone a little way
ahead of me, call back,
t'will cheer my heart,
and help my feet along the stony track.

And if per chance faith's light is dim
because the oil is low.
Your call will guide my lagging course
as wearily I go.

Call back, and tell me that
He went with you into the storm.
Call back, and say He kept you
when the forest roots were torn.

That when the heavens thundered
and the earthquake shook the hill,
He bore you up and held you
when the very air was still.

Oh friend, call back and tell me
for I cannot see your face.
They say it glows with triumph
and your feet bound in the race.

But there are mists between us
and my Spirit eyes are dim.
And I cannot see the glory
though I long for word of Him.

But if you'll say He heard you
when your prayer was but a cry,
and if you say He saw you
through the night-sinned darkened sky.

If you have gone a little way ahead,
oh friend, call back.
T'will cheer my heart
and help my feet along the stony track."

Having someone to understand, encourage and point the way to the next step...tho only you can take it. We've gone before you through the storms. The point of faith-based instruction born out of 12 years of birthwork.

Doulas know “why”… you can too! 🤍

• Protein in early labor

➡️ helps curb nausea and
➡️ gives your body steady, usable energy.

• A simple bedtime routine

➡️ channels anxious energy into calm, familiar care…
➡️ reminds your body that labor is natural…
➡️ keeps you ready if plans change overnight… and
➡️ soft clothing lets you both rest and move freely.

• A warm shower followed by laying down

➡️ often slows early labor — giving you your best chance at deep sleep before active labor begins.

*And trust me… once active labor starts, sleep won’t be an option. If you dozed through early labor? That’s nearly 30% of the journey already done ✅️

Does knowing 'why' build your faith and confidence for birth? 🤍

Labor often begins quietly… in the evening… when your mind finally lets go and your body feels safe enough to begin. 🤍

When those first signs start, protect the calm and privacy your body was designed to labor in:

▶️ eat a high-protein snack,
▶️ finish your simple bedtime routine,
▶️ take a warm shower, and
▶️ settle into bed.

These small steps help your body stay relaxed, steady, and ready for what’s ahead.

WHY do these simple tips matter so much? — look for my next post to find out!

Did you know??

A virtual doula can positively impact your pregnancy, labor & postpartum 🤍

Especially when you feel alone.

Maybe you’re:

• living overseas in a challenging cultural context

• unable to find a provider or birthplace that respects your freedom to navigate pregnancy through faith in God as Creator

• a military spouse, unsure if your primary birth partner will even be there

• or simply craving someone who understands how your worldview shapes your decisions

Virtual doula support isn’t just about convenience — it’s about connection.

It’s having one-on-one support from someone who:

• listens to you through contractions

• encourages you in ways that fit you

• helps you process medical conversations before labor

• reflects what stage of labor this looks like

• suggests next steps aligned with your preferences

• supports you through pregnancy leading up to birth — not just in the moment

Wouldn’t it be a relief to know you’re not filtering medical decisions alone — and that the person supporting you shares your faith and values?

✨ That’s the power of virtual doula care.

💬 Comment "MORE" to read how virtual doula support works — and why it matters.

01/27/2026

“Is a doula a midwife?”
No — and that distinction matters. 🤍

If you’re planning a hospital birth, you may feel like your only option for support is a midwife… or no support at all.

But medical care and continuous pregnancy + labor support are not the same thing.

As a virtual doula, I provide non-medical pregnancy and labor support — so you’re not walking this journey alone.

You get
🔹️education,
🔹️resources,
🔹️prep,
🔹️practice, and
🔹️guidance
that equips your chosen birth supporter to confidently support you in labor… plus postpartum follow-up.

You don’t have to choose between faith, support, and a hospital birth. 🤍
