Just a few days ago, some of our team had the opportunity to attend the AOPA National Conference in Orlando, Florida! 🌴☀️

It was an incredible few days filled with learning, collaboration, and innovation. We connected with friends and colleagues from across the country and had the privilege of reuniting with current faculty from Northwestern University Prosthetic-Orthotics Center, including Chris Robinson, a great faculty mentor whom we had the pleasure of learning from. 🙌

From exploring new technologies to discussing best practices in orthotics and prosthetics, this conference reminded us how important lifelong learning is to serving our patients with excellence.

We’re excited to bring these insights back to Anchor Brace & Limb and continue raising the standard of care in our community. 💙⚓

🌟 Meet Monnie! 🌟

Monnie is a remarkable retiree who shows us all what true resilience looks like. After losing her leg below the knee, she hasn’t let anything slow her down. She’s moving forward with determination, grace, and a fighting spirit that inspires everyone she meets.

We were proud to be a part of her prosthetic journey at our clinic in Whitesburg, Kentucky. When it came time to design her prosthetic socket, she chose to incorporate beautiful butterflies—symbols of transformation and hope. It’s the perfect reflection of her journey and the light she brings to those around her.

We’re so honored to share in her story. Keep flying high, Monnie! 🦋💪❤️

Can you spot the difference?
These two liners are the same size. The liner on the left is brand new while the one on the right is about seven months old. It is important to change your liners once they begin to wear out to maintain an appropriate and safe fit of your prosthesis. Taking the proper actions to care for your liner can help prolong its life. It should be cleaned every day, like your skin.
Here’s a step-by-step guide for cleaning a liner:
1. Roll the liner off of your residual limb
2. Turn the liner inside-out so that the silicone that is typically on the inside is outside
3. Thoroughly wash the silicone side with a mild (pH neutral) soap or with a special liner cleaner
4. Rinse off the soap entirely so there is no residue
5. Dry the liner inside and out with a towel
6. Turn the liner back to its normal form so the silicone is on the inside and clean the outside with a damp cloth
7. Hang up the liner to dry completely
**Never put it directly on a heater and avoid direct sunlight
