⭐️Staff Spotlight⭐️

Today’s spotlight is another one of our great physicians, Dr. Ralph Mills! Dr. Mills is born and raised in Tennessee. He joined the BucSports team in 2003 and has been an ETSU team physician since 2004. He attended medicinal school right here at ETSU and graduated in 1984. He completed his residency with ETSU Family Physicians of Kingsport, was named “Most Outstanding Senior Resident”, and was the youngest licensed physician in the state of Tennessee! Besides being one of the ETSU Athletics team physicians, Dr. Mills is also the team physician for Daniel Boone High School and David Crockett High School. You may have seen him while he was organizing physicals for over 1,000 middle and high school students in the local area or around Johnson City coaching his son’s little league baseball team! Dr. Mills played baseball in college and loves attending all sporting events. If you see him around the community, make sure to say hi!

⭐️Staff Spotlight⭐️

Today’s staff spotlight is one of our physicians, Dr. Jay Johnston! Dr. Johnston was a member of the military (including the Marines and the U.S. Army) from 1996-2013. While in the military, he was an Infantryman and a Green Beret. He served on the the Special Forces as a Medical and Team Sergeant. During this time, he was awarded multiple awards for her service and dedication. After the military, Dr. Johnston attended James H. Quillen College of Medicine here at ETSU to obtain is M.D. After his residency at Kingsport Family Medicine and his fellowship at AnMed Sports Medicine, Dr. Johnston returned to Johnson City to work at BucSports Medicine. When he is not working, Dr. Johnston enjoys spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, and his three sons, building all different projects, and being outdoors.
