Dr. Brion Jones of Johnson City, TN has been honored with the 2025 James R. Cole Heritage Award by his peers in recognition of his career-long commitment benefiting his patients, profession and community.

“We are proud to recognize Dr. Jones for the remarkable contributions he’s made,” said TCA Executive Director Tiffany Stevens. “His determination, humility, and strong voice for unity and progress has created a lasting heritage enriched by his over 30-year career of excellence.”

Born in California, Dr. Brion Jones’ early years involved many moves and a long list of occupations before deciding to study pre-med at East TN State University and then chiropractic at Life University.

Upon graduating in 1991, he returned to east TN where he met and married the love of his life, Ida, forming a dynamic partnership. For several years, he worked as an associate with TCA mentors Dr. Jim Messimer, Dr. Joe Birdwell and Dr. Lonnie Jackson before taking the leap of owning his own practice. With Ida as a vital team member, he has grown a practice of 3 employees into a thriving, multidisciplinary practice.

An active TCA Gold Member for 20 years, Dr. Jones’ strong sense of justice and no-nonsense leadership have been a strong voice both within the profession and on “the Hill”. In 2012, his colleagues elected him to the TCA Board as District I Director—a role he has held for 13 years. Serving his community, his volunteerism includes roles in the Johnson City Civil Service Commission, Boy Scout leadership, city parks, ETSU athletics and many others.

Overcoming life’s challenges, Dr. Jones has proven that it’s through the toughest battles that we emerge stronger and wiser. He treasures time with his children and granddaughters.

Dr. Jones accepted his award from TCA President Dr. Alison Davidson at the Southern Chiropractic Conference® hosted by TCA. Watch his highlight video featured on the TCA’s YouTube channel ().
