🇧🇴 Bolivia Missions Trip Recap ♥️

This week, we’re honored to highlight Dr. Gabriela Orozco, Co-founder and Medical Director of Paz Echad, as she reflects on the incredible work of the KHC Bolivia Missions Team!

We are excited to announce that this year's Pacemaker Campaign was an extraordinary success!

In Cochabamba, Bolivia, the dedicated teams from Hospital Viedma, Karing Hearts Cardiology, and Paz Echad worked tirelessly to implant seventy (70) pacemakers. This remarkable effort has not only transformed the lives of the recipients but also brought renewed hope and joy to their families. 💛

Among the many inspiring stories, one stands out: A woman in her 50s arrived at the ER with a heart rate in the 25–30s and oxygen levels in the 80s. She could not afford a pacemaker. Thanks to this campaign, she received the device, leaving the hospital rejuvenated and full of life. Meeting her son, who was overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude, reminded us of the real impact this mission brings. If she hadn’t come in during this campaign, her outcome would have been tragic.

Now in its fourth year, this life-changing initiative continues, powered by our faith, generous donors, and dedicated partners. Each pacemaker tells a story of resilience, a family rekindled in hope, and a future reclaimed.

Born in Amman, Jordan, Dr. Hamati’s path to medicine began with inspiration from his older brother and a deep desire to make a difference. His journey eventually brought him to the Appalachian Highlands, where he now calls home.
“I love the friendly people here and being part of their lives,” he shares.
Dr. Hamati is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. His specialties include advanced procedures like TAVR, the Watchman procedure, high-risk interventions, ASD/PFO closure, Micra pacemaker implants, and more.
He’s passionate about open, honest communication—helping patients feel informed, empowered, and cared for every step of the way.
