Do you need an establishment license?
-General Rules Governing Licensed Massage Therapists and Establishments- 0870-01-.01 (10) defines an Establishment as: A business or institution that is a fixed and permeant location or a mobile vehicle facility that is open and accessible to the general public for compensated massage services.
Within the last several weeks, it has come to the attention of the TN Massage Therapy Board that there has been miscommunication in the massage profession, the schools, CE providers and the Massage Board. Now that this has been discovered, the intentions are set to rectify the issue by providing the information necessary to protect the profession. This will allow LMT’s, schools, and CE providers to understand the requirements of having an establishment license.
