Do you feel like your child has lost ground over the summer?
Here are a few things you can practice at home to get them geared up and ready for school.
Practice writing worksheets
Crossword puzzles work on getting letter size and alignment correct
Practice math worksheets useful for aligning numbers properly.
Pencil fidgets to decrease some of the anxiety going into a new school year with new teachers, etc.

For your older kiddos, executive functioning skills plays a major role.
Help them to organize by providing binders, tabbed dividers or 5 subject notebooks if teachers allow and the focus should have been on smaller letter formation over the several school years but just some reminders that they are writing on college ruled paper now.
If they are transitioning to middle school, the refresher course on multiplication tables.

For all kids:
• Mindfulness activities: Engage in mindfulness activities such as guided meditation, deep breathing exercises, or yoga sessions. These practices help children become more aware of their emotions and develop strategies for self-regulation and aids in calming an overactive mind.
