🚨 Parents — Don’t Miss This FREE Community Event! 🚨

The 2nd Annual Kid's Safety Day is coming to Erwin Town Hall on Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and we invite families from across the region to join us for a fun-filled morning focused on keeping kids safe, healthy, and informed! ❤️

This FREE event will feature:
🚲 FREE bicycle helmets for children while supplies last
🚗 Car seat safety checks
✔️ Bicycle safety education
💊 Drug prevention and awareness resources
🩹 First aid and emergency preparedness information
⚡ Electrical and household safety education
🍧 Kona Ice
🎁 Free goodies, giveaways, activities, and more!

Families will also have the opportunity to connect with local first responders, businesses, and community organizations dedicated to protecting and supporting children in our community, including - Town of Erwin Police Department, Town of Erwin Fire Department, Unicoi County Emergency Medical Services, Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee, Children's Advocacy Center of the 1st Judical District, Erwin Utilities, Unicoi County Family YMCA, Unicoi County Prevention Coalition, Valley Beautiful Healthcare, Rocky Fork State Park, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, Niswonger Children's Hospital, Ballad Health and Kona Ice.

Kid’s Safety Day is hosted by the Unicoi County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with many incredible community organizations and is made possible through funding from the Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation, whose mission is to promote bicycle safety and healthy lifestyles for children and families.

Bring the kids, invite your friends, and join us for a meaningful and fun morning the whole family will enjoy!

Expanding on the March 30th presentation, Education Advocates from the Children’s Advocacy Center will return for a series of classes beginning Tuesday, April 14th at 6:00pm! Parents, caregivers, anyone who works with kids and teens, should not miss this important information on online safety and protecting children from online predators and dangers. It happens here to kids from all walks of life!

☀️ FREE Summer Meals are coming to Carter County Schools! ☀️

Beginning May 27, Carter County School Nutrition will once again provide FREE meals for any child 18 years old and younger through the Summer Meal Program at Hampton Elementary School.

Families can pick up multiple days’ worth of breakfast and lunch during designated distribution times each week. We are so thankful for our School Nutrition staff and all they do to help serve our students and community throughout the summer months!
