Meet Kayla!

Kayla Tapia, MA, NCC (she/her)

What are your areas of clinical experience?:
“I most enjoy working with teens and young adults. I feel honored to have the opportunity to join people in their journeys through periods of life defined by change, identity exploration, and personal development, as well as times when the effects of childhood trauma begin to appear and other difficulties begin to emerge for the first time (anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship issues, etc). I also particularly enjoy working with couples and helping them find a path toward safety, support, and healthy attachment and communication with one another.”

What are some interesting facts about you or things you enjoy?:
“I'm most drawn to anything that allows me to be outside and/or active - running, hiking, backpacking, and yoga. I love learning about anything and everything, so I find a lot of pleasure in reading, watching documentaries, traveling to new places and talking to new people. When I find myself indoors more and moving at a slower pace (like in the winter), joy comes in the form of a good cup of coffee with my partner, cuddles with my dog, board games, and fantasy/adventure TV and movies.”

Education:
BA in Classical Civilization from Oberlin College
MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Couple's and Family Counseling from ETSU
