There is something powerful about a community coming together to care for one another.

We are so grateful to the congregation at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elizabethton for their generous donation to Appalachian Mountain Project Access. Gifts like this make a real difference for people in our region who are navigating serious health needs without insurance.

Because of support like yours, patients are able to access specialty care they otherwise could not afford. That kind of impact starts right here, with people who choose to show up for their neighbors.

Thank you for believing in this work and the people we serve. We are honored to stand alongside you.

If you have ever thought about giving, this is what it looks like in action.

Sleep apnea doesn’t just mean a bad night’s sleep. It can affect heart health, energy levels, and overall quality of life. For many people in our region, getting the equipment they need isn’t simple. That’s where community support makes a real difference.

Appalachian Mountain Project Access helps connect patients to donated CPAP machines and specialty care so they can breathe easier and sleep safely.

If you have a CPAP machine you no longer use, consider donating it. It could make a meaningful difference for someone who needs it.

May 1 marks the start of ALS Awareness Month. ALS, often called Lou Gehrig’s disease, slowly takes away the ability to move, speak, and carry out everyday routines many of us take for granted. Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story that continues to unfold. In our community, there are people navigating these challenges every day.

Awareness starts with understanding, compassion, and taking a moment to see what others may be facing.

A routine check turned into stage 4 cancer.

Jonathan came to Project Access after being referred by Crossroads Medical Mission for elevated PSA levels.

He was quickly connected to the specialists he needed.

Today, Jonathan is cancer free.

That’s what access to care can do.

We’re working to fund 25 patient journeys by June 30.
20 are already funded. 5 to go.

A full year of care for one patient is $400.

If you believe people in our community deserve access to life-saving care, this is your moment.

This World Women's Wellness Day we want to remind you that you don't have to carry it all by yourself. Your health matters too. Not just the physical stuff, but your mental and emotional well-being too. It's okay to need rest, support, and care. We see you and we are here for you no matter your situation.

🌎💚 Healthy Earth, Healthy People

Here in the Appalachian Highlands, the health of our environment is personal. Clean air, safe water, and access to good food all shape the well-being of the patients we serve every day.

This Earth Day, we’re reminded that caring for our planet is part of caring for each other, especially for those facing barriers to healthcare.

Small steps matter. For our Earth, and for our community. 🌿

Today some of the Project Access team got outside for a game of kickball to celebrate National Kickball Day. At Appalachian Mountain Project Access, we know health is more than doctor visits. Getting outside, moving your body, and spending time together all support physical and mental health. Taking time to recharge helps us better serve our patients and improve access to care in our community.

Today is Global Work from Home Day! We asked one of our Care Coordinators, Miranda, how she felt working from home:

"Woking from home gives me the personal freedom to be present for my family while still being fully committed to my work. In the mix of the chaos and loudness, I can still help patients enroll in our program and navigate their medical needs so they can get the care they deserve. It's a pretty fulfilling to know that from my couch, I'm helping change someone's access to healthcare. The flexibility allows me to give my best both as a care coordinator and as a mom. "

Thank you for all that you do, Miranda!!
