New research shows that adults aged 50 years and above who sleep more than 9 hours a night are at a significantly higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease. But this link is strongest among individuals with underlying conditions—like hypertension, diabetes, or obesity—which likely play a key role in driving the increased risk.
