Jessi graduated from East Carolina University as a speech-language pathologist in 2010, later finding her passion in feeding disorders. She is also a Certified Autism Specialist. Jessi uses a comprehensive approach to feeding disorders to treat a wide variety of patients. Continuing education focused on bottle and breastfeeding with an emphasis on medical, motor, behavioral approaches. She works closely with lactation consulting to better serve breastfeeding moms. She understands every child is unique and therapy should include a multifaceted investigation into underlying causes. Over her 15 years in the field she has completed numerous courses to better serve these populations to include complex medically compromised children weaning from feeding tubes. She works closely with each family to ensure parents and caregivers feel confident in carryover practice at home. She believes therapy should be a playful and a fun experience, reducing anxiety surrounding oral feeding.
She enjoys spending time with her young children, ages 8 and 5. She serves the Kingsport area to include: late talkers, language disorders, augmentative and alternative communication using a total communication approach, oral motor feeding disorders, medically complex oral feeding needs, sensory feeding concerns, Autism, special populations and genetic disorders as well as clarity of speech.
