Adult & Teen Challenge Vermont:
Freedom From Addiction Starts Here

Adult and Teen Challenge began with one recovery home in NYC in 1958, and today there are over 1400 ATC worldwide. The Adult & Teen Challenge Vermont recovery program was established in 2005 by now-Senior Director Richard Welch. In 2019, we opened the Adult & Teen Challenge Northern New England Women's Home, the first long-term recovery program of its kind in Vermont. Our 10-12 month program serves men and women ages 18 and up, with an option for an additional 12 months of aftercare and even an opportunity to use the available transitional housing component to help make the transition seamless and successful. At Adult & Teen Challenge Vermont, we believe that true recovery stems from addressing the root causes of addiction. Our experienced and dedicated team of professionals combines evidence-based therapies with the transformative power of Christian principles. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, our serene residential facility offers a safe and supportive environment. Engage in therapeutic activities such as Biblical classroom instruction, chapel and worship services, clinical counseling, outdoor recreation, vocational training, staff mentoring, and more, all designed to provide an atmosphere for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual development. Our community of like-minded individuals will uplift and inspire you on your journey toward a renewed sense of purpose and a stronger connection with God. Take the courageous step towards healing at Adult & Teen Challenge Vermont, where hope and transformation await. Reach out today and discover the path to a life of lasting recovery.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the two wonderful churches who welcomed us this past week, Passumpsic Baptist and New Life Christian Ministries in Milton, who gave us the opportunity to share our message of freedom.

Your openness, compassion, and genuine love created a space where our men could speak with courage and hope. Every testimony shared is a reminder that transformation is possible, and your support helps make that message shine even brighter.

Thank you for believing in redemption, for standing with us in this work, and for opening your doors to a ministry that is changing lives. We left encouraged, uplifted, and grateful for the partnership we share in bringing hope to those on the journey of recovery.

This month, as the snow melts off the mountains and the first signs of green push through the thawing ground, we’re seeing that same renewal in the hearts of the men here. The men are stepping outside more—walking, talking, breathing in the fresh air that reminds them that new seasons are possible.

Daily devotions for our men is part of that process, we may not see it at first, but the next season of our lives is on the way

Spring in Vermont is never perfect. It’s muddy, unpredictable, and sometimes messy. Recovery is much the same. But it’s also full of promise. Every day brings a small sign of growth, a new beginning, a reminder that God specializes in renewal.

(The apple tree in front of our center is starting to show buds, it won't be long now before it's in bloom.)

Our men hit the bowling lanes—and what a sight it was.
A little rowdy, a little competitive, and absolutely overflowing with joy.

Between the strikes, the gutter balls, the friendly trash‑talk, and the mountain of pizza, you could feel something special in the room: men in recovery simply enjoying life together with the help of our God. Laughing. Cheering each other on. Building memories that remind them what community, fun, and brotherhood really look like.
These moments matter, these moments heal, and yesterday was full of them.

Here’s to more times of joy, connection, and healthy fun as these men continue choosing a better life every day.

Nothing beats coming home after a great church service and filling the house with the smell of a good home‑cooked meal.

Tonight’s menu was pure comfort: tender steak tips, honey‑glazed carrots, creamy mac and cheese, and fresh green beans. Simple, warm, and made with love — the kind of dinner that brings everyone to the table a little quicker.

Grateful for good worship, good food, and the peace that settles in at the end of a Sunday well spent.

Blessed and thankful.

Intercessory prayer isn’t just a spiritual practice for us.
It’s a way of standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder, carrying each other’s burdens, and reminding one another that none of us walks this road alone.
This is camaraderie. This is brotherhood. This is recovery lived out loud.
Every time these men pray for each other, they’re building something deeper than sobriety—they’re building equity in relationships, trust, and character that can last a lifetime.
We’re proud of the men who show up, lift each other up, and choose unity over isolation.
This is how transformation takes root and grows.

Today, we are incredibly honored to celebrate a major milestone for our Senior Director, Hector Adujar. Not only is Hector overseeing NH, ME and VT, but he is marking 12 years of dedicated service with Adult and Teen Challenge New England, and he is also celebrating 12 years of sobriety!
Hector’s journey is a powerful testament to the fact that change is possible and that hope can be found in the darkest of places. Over the last decade-plus, his leadership, heart for others, and unwavering faith have helped countless individuals find their own path to freedom. Last night he and our Associate Director Zach treated our residents to pizza in Stowe, we so appreciate the time spent with us.
Hector, thank you for your passion, your mentorship, and for being a living example of what God can do in a life fully surrendered. We are so blessed to have you at the helm!
Help us shower him with some love in the comments below! 👇

Today we want to give a thank‑you to our Senior Director, Hector Andújar, for bringing a powerful word from I Samuel 3.
His message on “Hearing the Voice of God” reminded us that before we can hear, we must first be in the right position—humble, attentive, and willing. And when God speaks, our response should be simple obedience.

Hector, thank you for challenging us, encouraging us, and pointing us back to the posture that invites God’s voice into our lives. Your leadership and your heart for the men continue to make a real impact.

“Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.”

What an incredible time we had at Lyndonville United Methodist Church yesterday.
Their kindness, hospitality, and genuine love made it a truly special day for our men.

We were honored to share our recovery stories with a church family that listens with compassion and celebrates transformation with us. Moments like these remind us how powerful it is when a community opens its doors—and its heart—to people on the journey of rebuilding their lives.

Thank you, Lyndonville UMC, for welcoming us, encouraging us, and standing with us in the work of hope and restoration. We left uplifted, grateful, and inspired.

A huge thank‑you to New Life Assembly in Barre, VT for welcoming us so generously this weekend.

We were honored to stand before your church family and testify to the power of changed lives. Your openness, encouragement, and genuine love created a space where our men could share their stories with courage and hope.

Every testimony is a reminder that God is still in the business of restoration—and your church helped make that message shine a little brighter.
