20% OFF something safer :)

Breast cancer is still one of the most common cancers worldwide. Around 10–25% of breast cancer cases are linked to genetics, while the rest are influenced by hormones and environmental factors — think diet, physical activity, obesity, and exposure to certain toxins.

Many chemicals connected to breast cancer are found in products we use every single day — from cosmetics and cleaning supplies to food packaging and plastics.

Here are some common chemicals linked to breast cancer and where they tend to show up in our daily lives 👇

🧴 Parabens
Where they’re found: Shampoos, lotions, deodorants, makeup, and other personal care products.
Why they matter: Parabens can mimic estrogen in the body. Since estrogen plays a role in breast cell growth, long-term exposure may increase breast cancer risk.

🧼 Phthalates
Where they’re found: Fragranced products like perfumes, air fresheners, soaps, and plastics.
Why they matter: Phthalates are known endocrine disruptors — they can interfere with hormones that regulate cell growth and development.

🧃 BPA (Bisphenol A)
Where they’re found: Plastic bottles, food cans, and packaging.
Why they matter: BPA can act like estrogen in the body and has been linked to breast tissue changes that may lead to cancer.

🕯️ Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)
Where they’re found: Cigarette smoke, vehicle exhaust, and charred or grilled foods.
Why they matter: PAHs can bind to DNA and cause mutations that may contribute to cancer development.

🧪 Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)
Where they’re found: Nonstick cookware, water-resistant fabrics, food packaging, and firefighting foams.
Why they matter: PFAS — often called “forever chemicals” — build up in the body over time and are linked to hormonal disruption and cancer risk.

💄 Formaldehyde & Formaldehyde-Releasing Preservatives
Where they’re found: Nail polish, hair straightening treatments, and some cosmetics.
Why they matter: Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen that can damage DNA and increase cancer risk with frequent exposure.
