Including horses in one's life teaches you this: keeping horses well requires a team. Veterinarian, farrier, dentist… & P.A.W.
Dr. Liberty Kaufman has become an essential part of my horses’ wellbeing.
My rescue QH, “Oh no, now what? Remington,” was a mystery in many facets of his wellness. Liberty has been so supportive in getting to the bottom of his issues, offering lucidity on supplements, feed, and environmental needs (more movement!!). What she offers quiets the chaos that comes when answers have been elusive.
During his evening feed, I noticed Remington's front leg was swollen. By morning, all of his legs were very swollen, & he was running a fever of 102.5°, restless, but eating and drinking. Cold hosing for several days resulted in no change.
Dr. Liberty came out to do an assessment on Remi, and through that process, it became clear his body was dealing with an avian-related bacterial burden. For a moment, it bewildered both of us, as we looked for a possible cause… a bunch of birds??
The “A-Ha” moment came when I remembered our newly “free-range” chickens…
The culprits!!
Dr. Liberty was quick to put together a plan of wellness to supply Remi with what his body needed to recover and support his immune system & digestion.
Within 2 days, the swelling & fever were greatly reduced, & he was back to himself within a week. (And the chickens were confined!)
One can't help but wonder… where else would an understanding of that uncommon situation come from?
Dr. Liberty and P.A.W. are a treasure, and a tremendously valuable “player” that horsemen (& women) need on their team.
She’s a game-changer!
