Excessive Fines Imposed by the Water Authority:

The Greater Johnstown Water Authority has imposed high fines on consumers, further exacerbating the financial strain on residents.

For example, late fees, reconnection fees, and penalties for non-compliance with the SOAR Lateral Program can amount to hundreds of dollars, a significant burden for low-income families.

According to recent fee schedules published by the Water Authority, the fines include:

Non-Compliance Surcharge: $75.00

Late Payment Fee: $50 for each late payment.

Reconnection Fee: $150 for re-establishing service after disconnection.

Non-Compliance Penalty: $500 for failing to comply with the lateral program requirements.
