April is Child Abuse Prevention month, a month to raise awareness for child abuse and neglect in our community. We are doing our part by trying to help raise donations for Realities For Children. With every $5 or more donation you get a wrist band. We have both adult and child sizes. During well-child visits, clinicians watch how young children interact with their book; assess developmental, motor, and speech milestones; and review parent-child interactions and family dynamics.

We had the honor of having Reach Out and Read visit our office a few weeks back and take some pictures of our providers with some of our actual patients giving them books. It was a great day for reading! A child is never too young to start reading to and we love sharing our passion for reading with our patients every day.

In well-child visits at Thompson River Pediatrics in Colorado, something special is happening — stories are being shared, families are growing closer, and a love of reading is taking root. 🌱📚

In partnership with Reach Out and Read Colorado, clinicians provide age- and culturally appropriate books to kids — and shared reading guidance to parents — to make reading aloud a part of their daily routine.

Every book given is more than a story — it’s a prescription for success, fostering early brain development, language skills, and parent-child relationships. ❤️📖

We are happy to be celebrating 10 years of taking care of kids in Northern Colorado. We love our patients, parents and employees. We set out with a mission to welcome families into our care and treat their kids like we would care for our own. We have loved watching your kids grow and share in their achievements and frustrations. Just like in parenting the days are long but the years are short. We are looking forward to celebrating the next 10+ years and continue to be blessed to consider our employees and patients our TRPeds family!
