Today on National Lighthouse Day we celebrated with an interesting interpretation on a lighthouse, we made mason jar lights! Many of us have traveled to the Outer Banks and recognize the lighthouses found there: Currituck, Cape Lookout, Bodie Island, Hatteras, and the oldest functional lighthouse in North Carolina, the Ocracoke Island light. We got creative with sand and seashells; we selected our lighthouses and even learned a little history about each one of them! We added a small electronic candle to light the way!
