Tonight the Cub Scouts worked on the ‘My Community’ adventure. This adventure helps young Scouts learn about their role in their community and the importance of active citizenship. Through a variety of activities, Webelos explore how government works and how laws are made. They also learn about voting and the responsibilities of elected officials.

We appreciate Cambria County Commissioner Scott Hunt joining us this evening to speak with the Scouts and answer questions!

Many thanks and much respect to our team members making today happen. Maintenance-Grounds has been non-stop outside, and many staff inside have camped out to cover call-offs and assist other departments. Your sacrifice and dedication is appreciated!

INDEPENDENT LIVING REMINDERS 2026
Important reminders when it comes to campus snow removal and cold temperatures:

1) The roads and parking lots around the Manor are the first priority in snowy weather. This is in case of an emergency where we would have to evacuate Manor residents.

2) When we receive a constant snowfall or receive over a foot of snow that is typical in these parts, our crews can’t possibly keep up with it. Please be patient.

3) If it dips below ten degrees, our shoveling crew will only be out for short periods of time.

4) It seems Mother Nature always dumps on us over the weekend. After roads, we will do everyone’s driveway so you are able to get out. The sidewalks are last priority and will only be cleared as time permits. If there is a car in the driveway, we are unable to plow it.

5) If you have an early morning medical appointment and a major snowstorm is expected overnight, please call our Community Affairs at 814.262.2150 so they can make your driveway a priority. 24 hour notice is required.

6) If your heat is out due to a power outage, please contact us and we will transport you to the Manor Community Room. The Manor has an emergency generator and should always have heat. You should report your outage directly to Penelec: 1-888-544-4877

7) The storage units and flea market are not serviced during the winter months.

In weather emergencies, please contact:
Community Affairs: 814.262.2150 Please leave a message- voicemails are monitored remotely even when the office is closed.

Maintenance: 814.262.2161
Our primary form of communication during weather emergencies are robocall updates- if possible, please have a cell phone number on the robocall system as landlines will not receive the calls during power outages.

Be Safe!

Did You Know?
In the event of power outages, including extended outages, the Manor never misses a beat with a diesel powered generator. Thank you to Tony and the Maintenance gang for their regular inspection and servicing of the generator to ensure that when we need it, it’s ready to go!
