HIRING A MEDICAL BILLER!!!! We are looking for a full-time medical biller to join our team. This position requires entering in charges for office visits and testing. FYI!!!! Some of you may have already heard or received a letter in regards to UPMC dropping some of their Medicare plans in certain counties. For Cambria, Somerset, Bedford and Blair County (only to name a few) they are eliminating the UPMC Medicare PPO/Rx Choice plan. If you have this plan, you need to enroll into another UPMC plan or enroll in an entire different plan. They extended the enrollment period to December 31st. If you have any questions call the number on the back of your card. Also, BCBS is dropping their Distinct/Direct Blue PPO along with some of their network Doctors. Again, call the number on the back of your card to make sure your care team remains in network next year. Insurance can get confusing so just make sure you know what your deductible will be and if the doctors you see are eligible under your plan. **UPMC Partner Network Plan is not an insurance we can accept** This plan is offered thru the Market Place as one of their most affordable plans, however, your specialists have to be a UPMC provider-part of the UPMC system if you live within a certain mile radius of a UPMC Hospital/Center.

The Thanksgiving Holiday is right around the corner. There is so much going on in the world and lately it seems we hear more bad news than good. We would like to reflect on our blessings and help our community. Dr. Hadeed and the rest of the staff would like to offer Thanksgiving Turkey's to anyone in need. All you need to do is message this page with your name and phone number and we will provide a frozen turkey for you. Pick up for the turkey's will be Friday Nov 21st from 9-11 in our front office corridor. We will also have a giving table up thru the holidays with non perishable food items. Happy Thanksgiving!

Dr. Wilman Olmedo Calderon joined our practice at the beginning of October and has proven to be a great addition. He is taking new patient's and accepts all insurances. Dr. Olmedo holds privileges at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber where he provides interventional cardiology services, both in and out-patient. When you are alone and have a heart attack, what are you gonna do? A really good post that can't be shared often enough:

1. Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.

2. You are really tired and frustrated.
All of a sudden your experience chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.

3. Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..

4. Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.

5. How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.

6. But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.

7. Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. That’s how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment.

8. Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.

9. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Wilman Calderon has joined our practice! He received his medical degree from Universidad de El Salvador Faculty of Medicine and has been in practice for over 15 years. He is board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Internal Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology. He will hold privileges at Windber Hospital and Conemaugh Hospital.
