American Board of Veterinary Acupuncture Mission Statement:
To promote, advance, and enhance the historical wisdom, art, and science of veterinary acupuncture. Objectives:
1.

Purpose:
As an ABVS Recognized Veterinary Specialty Organization (RVSO), to establish and uphold the highest standards of excellence in veterinary acupuncture through assessment and certification, thereby enhancing the health and quality of life of animals. Establish standards of post-professional training and experience to certify specialists in veterinary acupuncture, including proficiency in veterinary acupuncture techniques, clinical application and integrative health practices.
2. Expand educational and scientific progress in the specialty of veterinary acupuncture, including but not limited to support of teaching and research initiatives.
3. Promote wide-range professional collaboration regarding the history, techniques, clinical applications, and scientific validity of veterinary acupuncture.
4. Promote the professional standing of acupuncture within the veterinary profession and general public.
5. Create a network of RVSO Board-certified specialists dedicated to sharing knowledge, advancing research and advocating a trusted benchmark of quality and competence in veterinary acupuncture care.
