National Activity Professionals Week 2026! They are the absolute BEST!!
National Activity Professional Week Jan 24 to 30, 2026...established by the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP) in 1984, National Activity Professional Day was created, later turning into a week-long celebration known as National Activity Professional Week (NAPW).
Activity Professionals are a vital profession that helps people live a life that is full of fun and meaning. Their holistic and person-directed approach to caring for our elders, focuses on implementing ongoing activity programs that incorporates the resident’s interests, hobbies and cultural preferences, which is integral to maintaining and/or improving a resident’s physical, mental and psychosocial well-being and independence.
This year’s theme, Beyond the Ordinary, celebrates the strengths of activity professionals through the power of engagement and innovative life enrichment, moving past routine through curiosity and deep listening, ultimately building better connections with the residents. By bridging clinical and social care, our Life Engagement staff help residents feel valued, moving them beyond just existing to truly living, while supporting overall well-being and preventing loneliness and isolation.
