March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month
Four years ago, Gregory Harms was diagnosed with MS. Over time, his mobility progressed from a cane to a rollator to a wheelchair.
After working with several therapy providers, Gregory found his way to outpatient therapy at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
“I don’t think anyone particularly enjoys having to do physical therapy. But the team here makes it a positive experience. They are skilled, they understand my condition, and they make every session valuable. It’s the perfect balance of expertise and encouragement.”
Gregory also noticed the care extended beyond his own experience.
“I see how the therapists work with other patients. There is dedication, professionalism, and a genuine interest in helping people improve.”
While therapy can be challenging, Gregory says the difference is clear.
“If I’m going to improve, it’s going to be with their help.”
At Saint Joseph Medical Center, our outpatient therapy team is committed to helping patients with neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis improve strength, mobility, and quality of life through personalized care.
