When experiencing persistent hematospermia, it’s vital to consult a healthcare professional for a comprehensive evaluation and tailored treatment. The approach to treating hematospermia is customized to address the specific underlying cause:

Infection-Related Hematospermia: Antibiotics are administered to combat infections causing blood in semen.
Inflammatory Hematospermia: In cases of inflammation, an anti-inflammatory medication may be recommended to alleviate symptoms.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs): If an STD is determined to be the source of the issue, the doctor will initiate treatment for the specific STD in question.
Post-Urological Procedure Hematospermia: In instances where blood in semen follows a recent urological procedure, such as a prostate biopsy, it often resolves naturally over several weeks, requiring no additional treatment.

If you need further assistance with hematospermia, consider booking an appointment with the board-certified urologists at Urology of Greater Atlanta, which has multiple locations across Georgia. We can discretely help you get the peace of mind you are looking for. Contact us today! To book an appointment or to know more:

At Urology of Greater Atlanta, the surgeons offer several types of robotic surgery, including robotic prostatectomy, robotic sacrocolpopexy, robotic nephrectomy, and robotic pyeloplasty.

Robotic Prostatectomy (radical and simple)

Robotic prostatectomy is a surgery used in the treatment of prostate cancer. Patients diagnosed with prostate cancer may need surgery to remove the cancerous cells or tumor, and a robot-assisted surgery allows for a more detailed view of the surgical site.

Smaller incisions and quicker recovery time are significant during this surgery because of the prostate’s location in your body.

Robotic Sacrocolpopexy

Robotic sacrocolpopexy is a surgery used to address vaginal and uterine prolapse.

During the procedure, your surgeon lifts your organs and inserts a mesh wall to support the pelvic muscles.

Robotic Nephrectomy

During a nephrectomy, your surgeon removes part or all of your kidney. The procedure is typically used to treat kidney cancer or remove a benign tumor. Your surgeon can also use a robotic nephrectomy to harvest a donor’s kidney.

Robotic Pyeloplasty

During pyeloplasty, your surgeon reconstructs the renal pelvis (hollow area) of your kidney. Your renal pelvis is the hollow area that drains urine into your ureters and your bladder. Trauma and infection can cause scarring, fluid retention, and other blockages that require surgical repair.

During a robotic surgery procedure, while you’re under anesthesia, small incisions are made to insert the robotic arms and camera into the patient’s body. The surgeon sits at the console and controls the movements of the robotic arms using a combination of hand movements and foot pedals.

The camera provides a magnified, three-dimensional view of the surgical area, offering the surgeon a detailed and immersive visualization of the anatomy.

Robotic surgery is an innovative surgical technique that combines advanced robotic systems with the expertise of skilled surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced precision and control. Also known as robot-assisted surgery, this cutting-edge technology has revolutionized the field of medicine, particularly in urology.

At the core of robotic surgery is the surgical robot, a sophisticated machine operated by a highly trained surgeon. The robot consists of multiple arms, each equipped with precise instruments and a high-definition camera. The surgeon controls these arms from a console in the operating room, allowing for real-time manipulation and visualization of the surgical site.

Low testosterone, also known as hypogonadism, can be diagnosed through a series of tests and examinations. The diagnosis process typically starts with a physical examination and a review of the patient’s medical history. Your doctor may ask about symptoms such as fatigue, decreased s*x drive, erectile dysfunction, infertility, decreased muscle mass and strength, and decreased bone density.

After the physical examination, the doctor may order blood tests to measure the level of testosterone in the patient’s blood. The most common test is the total testosterone test, which measures the overall testosterone level in the blood. In addition, your doctor may also order a free testosterone test, which measures the amount of testosterone that is not bound to proteins in the blood and is available for the body to use.

Our team of experienced urologists can help diagnose and treat low testosterone to improve your quality of life. Contact us today to schedule an appointment and take the first step toward feeling like yourself again!
