TERRIFIC KID TUESDAY 🎉 Learn more about Catalina from her CME inc therapists below!

Meet Catalina! She is our Terrific Kid this Tuesday! Catalina is all about sharing stories and friendly smiles. She is always in a great mood and ready to work. In speech therapy, we are working on letter-sound recognition, regular and irregular plurals, naming shapes and everyday objects, naming described objects, and working on improving our speech intelligibility with our SH, CH, and V sounds. We love having her here at CME! I am super excitied to watch her flourish as she goes to kindergarten in the fall!!

Catalina always comes in dressed to impress and with a smile on her face! She is so excited for kindergarten, and a lot of what we work on in occupational therapy will help her prepare for that! She is currently making great progress in letter and number identification, scissor skills, copying shapes for prewriting skills, manual dexterity, and bilateral coordination. It’s so exciting to see her gain so many school-related skills, kindergarten better watch out!

TERRIFIC KID TUESDAY 🎉 Learn more about Alberto from his CME inc therapists below!

Meet Alberto! In speech therapy, Alberto is making wonderful progress as he works on building both his receptive and expressive language skills. He is practicing important milestones such as responding to his name and following inhibitory words, using meaningful gestures like “hi” and “bye” and utilizing a picture exchange communication system to boost his functional communication. Alberto absolutely loves using sign language and is eager to learn new signs every day—his favorites are “more” and “please.” Alberto loves playing with cars, enjoying peek-a-boo, or having a blast in the ball pit, all while moving closer to his speech therapy goals. Alberto’s joy and determination light up the room, and I couldn’t be prouder of his hard work and progress!

Alberto is SO EXCITED to come to therapy! In occupational therapy, we have been working on self-regulation skills to get Alberto ready for school. He has been working on transitioning environments without distress and remaining seated at table-top when asked. He has been working on increasing hand strength and bilateral upper body coordination to increase his independence in dressing tasks. Alberto has been playing with puzzles, shape sorters, and matching games to establish visual motor skills needed for play. Alberto has grown so much since his first session. I cannot wait to see him continue to flourish here at CME!

Alberto is such a joy to work with! In physical therapy, Alberto is working to increase his overall strength and balance with jumping, balance beam, and tip toe activities. He is also working to increase his motor planning/coordination skills with kicking and catching a playground ball, throwing a tennis ball forward with overhand throw, and with walking backwards. Alberto loves playing with cars and dinosaurs, and his smile is absolutely infectious!!

TERRIFIC KID TUESDAY 🎉 Learn more about Thatcher from his CME inc therapists below! ⬇️

Meet Thatcher! He is our Terrific Kid this Tuesday! Thatcher loves super heroes, Legos, and playing with cars! In speech therapy, he is working on improving his speech intelligibility and overall language skills by using correct planning of movement sequences in words, using 2-3 word phrases for requesting, and using a Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) to improve functional communication skills. I enjoy working with Thatcher and am excited to see his continued progress!

Thatcher is a joy to have in the clinic! His love for learning new things is inspirational! Thatcher is working on his ADLS, identification of shapes and colors, fine motor, visual motor integration, and so much more! His bright cheery smile and love for his baby Yoda crocs just adds to his awesome personality!

I love having Thatcher in PT. He always works hard and participates well in therapy. In physical therapy, Thatcher has been working on balance with activities on the balance beam and rocker board. He has been working to increase his strength and range of motion with various lower extremity exercises and stretches. We are all so proud of him and excited to see him continue to progress!

TERRIFIC KID TUESDAY 🎉 Learn more about Hendrix from his CME inc therapists below! ⬇️

Meet Hendrix! Hendrix is a sweet and loving little guy that we always look forward to seeing! In speech therapy, he is currently working towards improving his receptive and expressive language skills by identifying different shapes and using words to answer yes/no questions. He is also working on mastering several articulation sounds to improve his overall speech intelligibility. He enjoys all things superheroes, cars, dinosaurs, and Legos! Hendrix is making great progress towards his goals, and we are so proud of him!

Hendrix is so sweet and loves to play! He has been working on fine motor, visual-motor, ADL, attention, sensory processing, play, and social skills. He has already made so much progress. I can't wait to see how much more progress he will make!
