REJECTION VS. REALITY

Ever feel like feedback turns into an attack before the conversation even starts? 🛑

Dr. Dana Bevill Watson with Families, Inc. Counseling Services recently joined KFIN 107.9 to talk about the “defensive wall” and how it can impact our relationships.

When we stay guarded, it can create a negative filter and make communication harder than it has to be. Awareness is the first step toward healthier conversations. 💬💙💛

REJECTION VS. REALITY

Stop me if this sounds familiar: Your partner brings up a small concern, and suddenly you’re mounting a legal defense. 🏛️✋

Why do we treat feedback like an attack? Dr. Dana Watson from Families, Inc. Counseling Services joined us to talk about the “defensive wall.” We’re diving into:

* How resentment creates a “negative filter.”
* Why your brain anticipates a fight before it starts.
* The long-term cost of staying guarded.ďż˝
It’s time to trade the armor for actual communication.

Today’s Clinical Supervisor meeting was one we won’t forget 💙

We had the honor of surprising our Medical Director, Dr. Pawel Kurylo, with a going away celebration—and what a special moment it was. His beautiful wife, Crystal, joined in on the surprise, along with his good friend and our former Medical Director, Dr. John Burnett, who came to share well wishes.

There were lots of laughs, great memories shared, and a room full of appreciation for someone who has meant so much to our organization. Dr. Kurylo is truly one of a kind—the absolute best, and genuinely a great person.

We are so grateful for the time, leadership, and heart he’s given to Families, Inc. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. 💛💙

Special thanks to GOT 2 Be BAKED for the amazing cake! 😊

If you suspect abuse or neglect, don’t stay silent. Your voice matters.

Some days don’t look like progress.
Some days feel slower, quieter, softer than what we expected of ourselves.

But showing up still counts. 🤍

Even if today looks different than yesterday… even if your energy isn’t where you want it to be… even if all you could do was take one small step forward—you are still moving.

Give yourself grace in the in-between moments. Growth doesn’t always have to be loud to be meaningful.

✨ However you’re showing up today… it’s enough.
✨ You are enough.

☀️ A little reminder to brighten your day ☀️

“Keep your eyes lifted high upon the sun… and you’ll see the best light in everyone.” – Tess Guinery

When we choose to focus on the good, we begin to see it everywhere—in ourselves and in others. Even on the hardest days, there is still light to be found. 💛

Let’s continue to lead with kindness, look for the positive, and be a source of light for those around us.

Today, our team proudly wore blue in support of Child Abuse Prevention Month and to stand alongside the Children’s Advocacy Center 💙

From our clinics to our offices, staff across our organization came together to raise awareness and show our commitment to protecting and supporting children in our communities. Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported—and today was a reminder that we all play a role in making that happen.

Thank you to our amazing team for showing up, wearing blue, and standing for such an important cause. 💙

✨ The Five W’s of Life ✨

Sometimes life doesn’t come with clear answers—and that’s okay. This simple reminder says it best:

• WHO you are is what makes you special—never change that for anyone.
• WHAT lies ahead may be unknown—don’t be afraid to explore.
• WHEN life knocks you down—get back up even stronger.
• WHERE you have choices—choose the path you won’t regret.
• WHY things happen may not always be clear—keep moving forward anyway.

Life is a journey full of growth, resilience, and discovery. Wherever you are today, keep going—you’re stronger than you think. 💙

Support Services Coordinator Naomi Holloway and Paragould Administrative Assistant/RFS Courtney Smith showed up yesterday looking like they planned it all along—but nope, total accident! 😂✨ Great minds (and wardrobes) think alike, and we’re loving this unintentional twinning moment. 💛👯‍♀️

The Paragould team pulled off the perfect surprise for our Medical Director, Dr. Kurylo—and from the look on his face, we’d say it was a success! 🤣🎉

We had so much fun celebrating him with a little going away party, complete with decorations, treats, and lots of laughter. Dr. Kurylo has been such an important part of our team, and while we are so happy for him as he moves to be closer to family, it’s definitely not goodbye without a few tears mixed in with the smiles.

You will be greatly missed, Dr. Kurylo! Thank you for everything you’ve done for our team and the lives you’ve impacted along the way. 💛 Wishing you all the best in this next chapter!

We’re having a great time representing Families, Inc. at the 2026 Business Expo in Jonesboro today! 🎉

Our team—Public Relations Coordinator Creston Sweet, HR Generalist DeShawnna DeFord, and Director of Human Resources Sherri Harp—is enjoying the opportunity to connect with so many incredible businesses and community partners. Events like this allow us to share who we are, what we do, and continue building strong relationships across our community.

And of course, we couldn’t miss a fun moment—we even got to take a picture with Sweepy from Swept Away! 🧹📸

If you’re here, come by and say hello—we’d love to connect!

Every child deserves to feel safe. 💙

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, a time to come together as a community to protect, support, and advocate for our children. Safety isn’t just a basic need—it’s the foundation for healthy growth, trust, and emotional well-being.

At Families, Inc. Counseling Services, we are committed to creating safe spaces where children and families can heal, grow, and thrive. But awareness starts with all of us—speaking up, checking in, and being a voice for those who may not have one.

If you see something, say something. If you know a child who may be struggling, reach out. Your actions can make a difference.

Together, we can build a safer, stronger future for every child. 💛

If you or someone you know needs support, we’re here to help.
