July DAISY🌼 and BEE🐝 Award Winners

Congratulations to Eddy Johnson from our 3 Main team, on receiving the DAISY Award and Helen Silvas, from our Pastoral Care team, on receiving the BEE Award.

🌼The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this international award to say thank you to nurses everywhere. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

🐝The BEE (Beyond Exceptional Expectations) Award was established to recognize our team members who go beyond expectations in our support and ancillary areas. Just as a daisy cannot survive without a bee, our patients rely on the support of those in our ancillary and support team members who provide exceptional care. Awards are driven by patients, family, and staff nominations.

Thank you to FNBC, your support of our employees and the top-notch care they provide!

St. Bernards Medical Center has earned a prestigious certification from the nation’s largest medical accrediting body, The Joint Commission, as an “Advanced Primary Stroke Center.” This new certification, the Gold Seal of Approval®, represents the highest recognition for St. Bernards to provide unique and specialized stroke care that fosters better health outcomes.

According to CDC data, stroke (cerebrovascular disease) is the fourth-leading cause of death across the U.S. each year, with about one in five persons dying after suffering a stroke. In fact, nearly 800,000 people in the U.S. will experience a stroke this year, with the medical emergency creating a leading cause of serious, long-term disability.

Congratulations to our stroke team on this top-tier recognition!
