🦃 A Heartwarming Thanksgiving at the Helena Senior Center! 🦃

Today we were blessed with a wonderful celebration filled with gratitude, community, and fellowship. Our seniors enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal, warm conversations, and plenty of smiles.

We were especially honored to welcome several distinguished guests who joined us in making the day even more special:

Congratulations to Senator Wallace, who was recognized as a 2025 Champions for Seniors Award recipient by the East Arkansas Area Agency on Aging!

This award celebrates his outstanding leadership and his pivotal role in securing $2 million in funding for senior centers across our state — an investment that will directly improve the lives of seniors in every community.

Today, we came together at the Forrest City Senior Center to honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice have protected our freedom and shaped the nation we are proud to call home.

Our Veterans were recognized with certificates of appreciation, heartfelt words of gratitude, and a community full of love and respect for all they’ve done. We are forever thankful for their service and commitment to our country.

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes at the Helena Senior Center 🇺🇸

Today, we proudly recognized and celebrated the brave men and women who have served our country. Each Veteran was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation, and several also received special gift cards as a small token of our gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

The Helena Senior Center is honored to have five active Veterans among our members — Joe Johnson, Felix Ross, Stanley Phillips, Thomas Patterson, and David Dodd, Jr. We are deeply proud of each of them.

We were also privileged to welcome Retired Sergeant Ollie Shaw, who served as a recruiter for over 20 years, along with distinguished guest speakers Col. John Edwards and Col. Alvin Burse, who shared inspiring words with our seniors.

In total, we had 12 Veterans present and honored 35 Veterans today. It was a day filled with pride, gratitude, and heartfelt appreciation for those who have given so much to protect our freedom.
