feeling all of the gratitude this week as a full year has passed since starting at 🌿
i’m grateful to each client for trusting me to be a part of their healing & wellness journey. in one year at botanica, i have—
🩵 given 175 massages
🫧 used appx. 1.5 gallons of massage oil
🪷 rolled appx. 220 hot towels
⭐️ received many compliments & smiles post massage

i love thinking about my “massage ripple effect” (yes, a term of my own invention).
so many peoples days can become better with a kind word & a gentle touch.
i love imagining how many people my clients go out into the world and have a positive impact on others after they receive their massage. while i may have only worked on my several dozen clients, i imagine my “massage ripple effect” reaches even more than i can possibly imagine. and that brings me so much joy ☀️🌀

what is MASSAGE BRAIN? & why does it happen? 💭

i took this photo after one of my clients had left their massage, and the glowing light coming through the windows, i think, perfectly encapsulates what ‘massage brain’ feels like.
have you ever gotten a massage & had that foggy brain, happy, floating feeling afterwards? this is commonly referred to as ‘massage brain’. it occurs when our parasympathetic nervous system is engaged, & happy chemicals such as endorphins increase and stress hormones like cortisol decrease.
recently, i have had many clients who have experienced this & have asked what they are experiencing. i love explaining how positively massage can affect the brain; it always brings me joy knowing i can create such a relaxing & stress relieving environment for them 🫶

i had the privilege of providing some massage therapy outreach at Northwest Early Elementary this afternoon. teachers work tirelessly to make sure our community is well cared for, so i am pleased to have had the opportunity to take care of them for a little while. 🧡💆✨🌿
