Ray got to go to the barbershop for a full cut and shave with a massage as a birthday present from one of our late residents. He really enjoyed it and got to relax the entire time.

At Americare, Wellness isn't a program- It's a way of life. Through Flourish Wellness, we create opportunities for residents to live with vitality, meaning, and personal fulfillment at every age and ability level.

Dimension: Vocational

Vocational wellness is all about doing something purposeful and meaningful. This morning we made banana cream pies and it was Margaret and Tracy's job to prepare the bananas and then to arrange them in the pan and decorate with them once the filling was poured in. They really enjoyed this activity as they all sat and talked about their days of baking for their families when they were young and what the proper techniques were to cut the banana slices and how to lay them just right for the pie. Once they were all done they were very proud of their work and are super excited for all the other residents to see what they created and taste what they made for them as they didn't make just one pie but made four that's two for each building!
