March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. ShowMe The Ozarks Magazine helped us teach the community more about the individuals we serve and how integral they are in our communities! You can read the article below.

This afternoon our Friends at ShowMe helped us create a special moment for one of our Employees by featuring him on the "cover" of the magazine!

If you see Dale working hard at CSS, ask him for his autograph - he's famous now!

Our "Under the Sea" G.O.A.L.S. dance on Friday was a splashing success! Thanks to our employees who volunteered their time to transform our CMAC building into an underwater world! 🌊🐚

Our G.O.A.L.S. Program, which stands for Growing Opportunities and Life Skills, is a community-based program that allows individuals with developmental disabilities to have the opportunity to be community members. This program is designed to provide opportunities and life skills through fun, community-based activities. We offer a wide variety of age-appropriate activities designed to promote growth and independence, such as bowling, sporting events, dances, and community events. Check out our full calendar of G.O.A.L.S. activities on our website: www.cssmo.org

Thank you to Liberty for sponsoring our upcoming event with Cody Clark Magic next Friday, March 27 at 6:00 PM at the Joplin South Middle School Auditorium!

In his theatrical, all-ages magic show, Cody Clark combines magic, comedy, and storytelling to share his personal journey of living with autism. From his initial diagnosis to his college graduation, Cody places his magic routines inside common life experiences to show how his autism makes him different, yet similar to most people.

Following his show, Cody will host a Q&A for attendees.

The good news continues!
The House Budget Committee has completed its draft of the Fiscal Year 2027 State Budget, and we’re celebrating an important step forward.
Thanks to the leadership of Chair Rep. Deaton , Appropriations Subcommittee Chair Rep. Chappell, and Ranking Minority Member Rep. Fogle, the proposed funding cut to day habilitation and self-directed services has been restored.

We’re grateful to the legislators who met with our members, listened, and worked to protect services that support Missourians with disabilities every day. If you’ve worked with these legislators or they represent your community, now is a great time to thank them for prioritizing disability services and workforce inclusion!

The budget process continues, but this is an encouraging moment—and one worth celebrating!
