Healing through Nature
LIFE JOURNEYS
Angie Fenske is a licensed therapist and a practicing shaman. Angie found that the most powerful therapy and healing techniques involve a connection to the natural world. Angie uses a combination of advanced energetic healing techniques, ecotherapy tools and other nature-based interventions to help others stop suffering, transform their pain into a source of strength, and learn new ways to live and thrive.

As we step into a new year, it's a good time to ground ourselves by reviewing some of the less well-known or easily forgotten aspects of several core Andean practices and their energy dynamics. I invite you to see which ones I called out in this month's blog post at QentiWasi.com

By practicing Kaizen, you develop a mindset that views challenges as opportunities to grow rather than obstacles to avoid.

This shift in perspective (looking through new glasses) - shifting from avoiding behavior - not wanting to see what is โ€œwrongโ€ because it brings up emotions, we donโ€™t want to feelโ€ฆto having the courage to see and feel exactly what is happening as a way to use the power of the challenge to create what you do want and grow exponentially.

When you train your brain to โ€œre-frameโ€ what you first see as a challenge and practicing this again and again also develops neuroplasticity to automatically create a mindset where you become an observer, the core of every spiritual practice.

The practice of Kaizen also makes you more resilient and open to new experiences.

A key aspect of Kaizen is regularly evaluating what's working and what's not so you identify areas for personal improvement and celebrate your progress.

By emphasizing progress over perfection, Kaizen helps you let go of the need to have everything just right from the startโ€ฆthat crazy perfection loop. It reduces stress and makes it easier to take the first step toward your goals.

Remember it is all about taking the micro-choices - that every step forward, no matter how small, is valuable.

Kaizen was used by Toyota but absolutely is easy to implement its practices in your personal life:

Begin with minor adjustments to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Don't jump into huge changes straightaway; think small and sustainable.

Define specific, achievable objectives. For instance, instead of โ€œI will get fit,โ€ try โ€œI will walk 3,000 steps daily.

Focus on improving by just 1% each day. Small steps lead to big Kaizen events.

Use tools to help you keep track of your progress, such as a journal, app, or even a simple checklist.

Set aside time weekly to review what's working and what's not. Review not only what your intention was but more importantly what was your way of BEING. Then adjust first your way of being.

Reward yourself for milestones, no matter how small.

Remember, it's not about intensity and giant leaps forward; consistency is key. Small micro-changes practiced daily lead to extraordinary results over time.

Start small, and remember that tiny wins are still wins, and they add up faster than you think.

๐‚๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐›๐ฒ ๐ก๐š๐›๐ข๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐œ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ : Pair a new habit with something you love, like practicing mindfulness during your morning coffee or organizing your desk while listening to a favorite podcast.

We all make mistakes, and that's okay. Instead of focusing on what went wrong, ask yourself, โ€œWhat ways of being are needed to keep you on trackโ€.

A weekly reflection or a small treat can keep motivation alive.

Canโ€™t wait to hear more about your ways of beingโ€ฆ

With love,
Linda

Elder's Meditation of the Day January 22

"The first factor in the revolution of consciousness is the mystic death of the ego - the death of negative thinking, negative personalities. We must purify the soul of the inner enemies. Every time a defect manifests - envy, gluttony, anger, lust, whatever - that impulse to the heart. Ask, `Do I really need to invoke this?' And then honor the heart."
--Willaru Huayta, QUECHAU NATION, PERU

Our egos have character defects. These character defects we sometimes act out and they invariably bring results to our lives that we might not want. If we continue to use these character defects, we will continue to have undesirable results in our lives. How do we change ourselves or get rid of a character defects. We can go to the heart and ask a question, make a decision, then honor the heart. For example, say I get angry today. I would go to the heart and ask, would I rather be right or would I rather be happy? How we answer this question can have an enormous impact on how our day goes. Once we decide the answer to this question, we need to honor the heart by saying, "Thank you for the power of changing my thoughts. I choose to be happy and to experience peace of mind."

Great Spirit, today, let me teach only love and learn only love.
