✨Meet Our Newest Provider – Michael Donahue, MSW, LCSW!✨

Counseling Associates of the Four States, LLC is excited to introduce Michael Donahue, now seeing clients in our Carthage office!

Michael earned his Master of Social Work from Fordham University (2021) and his Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Communications from Curry College (2003). Originally from New England, Michael has called Southwest Missouri home for more than 20 years.

After spending several years as a stay-at-home father to his three children, Michael returned to school to pursue his passion for helping others as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Michael takes a person-centered approach, focusing on each client’s unique strengths and needs. He works with individuals facing a wide range of concerns, including:
• Suicidal ideation
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Grief
• Trauma
• Substance use

He also brings valuable experience helping people navigate some of life’s most difficult moments.

Counseling Associates of the Four States is now accepting new members for our Chronic Illness Support Group, led by Tina Nelson, PLPC.

This 9-week group offers a supportive, understanding space for individuals living with chronic illness to connect, share, and build healthy coping strategies together.

🎉 Exciting News! We’re Expanding to Springfield, MO! 🎉

Counseling Associates of the Four States, LLC is thrilled to announce the opening of our new satellite office in Springfield, Missouri!

We’re proud to be partnering with Valerie Goodale, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC and the Adult ADHD Diagnostic Clinic to bring expanded mental health and neurodivergent-affirming services to the Springfield community.

Please join us in welcoming our newest provider who will be serving clients in Springfield — Michelle Vega! 🌟

Michelle Vega is an Early Childhood Educator and School Counselor with extensive experience supporting children and families across both educational and clinical systems. She is a Certified Autism Specialist (IBCCES) who provides developmentally appropriate, evidence-informed care for autistic and neurodivergent youth.

Michelle practices as a neurodivergent-affirming clinician for individuals with ASD and ADHD, prioritizing autonomy, strengths, and identity-respectful support over compliance-based models. She is also a trauma-informed therapist with a strong focus on the nervous system and attachment, specializing in work with children and adolescents experiencing challenges related to:
✨ Emotional regulation
✨ Anxiety
✨ Behavior concerns
✨ Relationships and connection

Michelle is the creator of an integrative clinical framework that combines Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) with scaffolded skill-building to support regulation, connection, and meaningful growth in neurodivergent children and teens.

We are so excited to bring Michelle’s compassionate, strengths-based approach to the Springfield area and continue expanding access to quality mental health care across the Four States region💙
