EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT:

Jack Long has been with us for the past year and a half. Jack brings a lot to the recovery community and is always willing to help those in need. Jacks willingness to learn and grow along with sharing his experiences has helped so many. We are blessed to have him on our team.

The struggle is real, but not everything has to be a struggle. I am a person in long term recovery. Next month I will celebrate 3 yrs of continuous non-stop recovery..Recovery is in everything I do, from my job as a CPS here at Starting Point, a BHT at Grand Falls Center for Recovery to my service work as the Missouri State Alumni co-chair of Oxford House, to my non-profit Repurposed Foundations, this is how I live. I experienced great loss to finally get me to surrender and while I understand that it takes what it takes, if I can plant the seed then maybe you won't have to lose as much before you water the seed and it begins to grow.
I want my experience to help others. My pain has become my purpose and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Allow me to introduce you to Carmen. Carmen is the newest member of our team and a recent transplant to Joplin. Carmen recently moved here with her family from Florida. She is a breath of fresh air for our team and adds a whole lot of spice to the mix. Carmen recently Celebrated 19 yrs of Recovery and we are super proud of her. Carmen is our Activities Director at the F.O.R.C.E. community center and has an extensive background in the field so to say we are grateful to have her on board is an understatement.

"I have 19 years in recovery, 12 of those years have been spent in the recovery field.
I have worked Outreach, call centers for substance use, detox, inpatient, outpatient, drug court, child welfare with successful reunification cases.
But my favorite part is getting to help families break this generational curse.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT:

Allow me to introduce Brent. Brent is a person in long-term term recovery. He is also the recipient of a heart transplant for which we are all grateful for. Brent has had many years inside institutions from which he has had to overcome his criminal thinking and associative behaviors. Brent is a caring guy that approaches his job with willingness and compassion and is a great fit for men and women with similar backgrounds that might want to try and buck the system. He's been there, done that, got the t-shirt. The perfect guy to show that recovery can be achieved if you are willing to challenge your own thoughts, beliefs and actions.

"9 years sober and counting! As a peer Support Specialist with my MAADC, I've been sharing my experience and hope with others at Starting Point Outpatient Services since 2023. Grateful for this journey and excited to support you on yours!
