🍼 Baby Won’t Take a Bottle After Breastfeeding? Try These Tips 💡
First, you’re not alone! Transitioning from breast to bottle can be tricky — but a few small tweaks can make a big difference. 👶💕
Here are some gentle strategies to try:
✨ Change Positions: If your baby is used to nursing in your arms, try holding them in a more upright or side-facing position for bottle feeds. Sometimes a new angle makes it feel like a new experience.
🔥 Warm the Ni**le: Run the bottle ni**le under warm water to mimic the warmth of the breast. Some babies are more willing when the ni**le doesn’t feel cold or foreign.
🔄 Alternate Breast & Bottle Feedings: Try offering a bottle in between regular breastfeeding sessions (not when baby is super hungry). This can lower resistance and help with familiarity.
👩👧👦 Let Someone Else Try: Your baby might associate you with nursing. Have a partner, grandparent, or caregiver offer the bottle when you’re out of sight.
💤 Dream Feed: Try offering the bottle when your baby is just waking up or about to drift off — they may take it more easily when they’re relaxed and sleepy.
⏳ Be Patient: Sometimes it takes several tries over a few days (or weeks). Don’t stress — every baby is different and you’re doing great. 💪💕
