Salutations Studio

Salutations Studio Salutations Studio offers high quality, affordable dance and yoga for the community and visitors. Cl Class location and times vary.

My approach to yoga asana classes weaves together a love of movement, a trust in the body's innate ability to heal, a curiosity of how the self is expressed through embodiment, an energetic playfulness, and a desire to integrate the whole person through time spent both on and off the mat. I find great joy in attending to the abundance of life, allowing the movement practice to help unveil each ind

ividual's process and aliveness. My hope is to facilitate dedicated time in the practice to build skills in self knowing. Check www.salutationsstudio.com for the latest updates

Last workshop offering for some time to come!

I know how difficult it can be to choose indoor activities during our brief and unpredictable Wallowa County spring! I too feel the pull to be working the soil and taking in fresh air and sunshine.

And...

Creating an intention to care for your hips and low back can provide a great base for strength and mobility that will support your body through the physical demands of the season.

Not only that, but the practice of yoga is always a chance to develop greater sensitivity toward yourself. If you are anything like me, the call to keep working on a project can override the need for rest. But, I always pay for it with inflammation and pain. Caring for my body on a regular basis AND listening to the signals from my body that tell me when to be done has been so important in preventing injury and holding space for the places that have already been on a healing journey.

The amazing weekend of Chakra yoga set my energy up perfectly for the next colorful experience

Thank goodness for my practice, reminding me that yoga is not just the presence we practice on the mat, but also the presence we practice when a child is sick and needs a parent to be with them
Thankful for my practice as a yogi and the way it supports my role as a mom. They really do go hand in hand

Our Story

My name is Esther Petrocine. I am a movement educator and creative instructor. I began my movement studies as a child, growing up as a dancer and an athlete in Laramie, Wyoming. I went on to earn a BS in Human Physiology and a minor in Dance from the University of Oregon. Sharing my love for movement, I worked as a personal trainer and pursued modern dance performance opportunities in Portland. Due to chronic, debilitating pain as a result of car and bicycle accidents, I devoted much of my time to my yoga practice. Upon tapping into the healing qualities of yoga, both physically and spiritually, it felt important to me to deepen my practice and find ways to offer this ancient art to others. I pursued the yogafit teacher training as well as a STOTT Pilates instructor training and began offering these mind body classes to my gym community. In 2008 I changed career paths, but continued my life as a student of yoga and dance. My work as a dancer evolved into teaching, choreographing, and putting on productions. In the midst of it all, I found my way back to teaching yoga when I met Alison Alstrom, a certified Anusara Yoga instructor. I completed a 200 hour teacher training program with her, learned the Universal Principles of Alignment, and taught in Portland before starting a family. I aim to empower each individual through movement to find their own inner wisdom and to deepen their relationship with Self so that they can bring the fullness of their being to their community. Namaste!
