This is White County Sheriff Phillip Miller with an important message about a zero tolerance policy.
Risk of wildfire continues to be high and White County is under a burn ban. Outdoor burning is illegal at this time and mandatory citations will be issued by deputies.
Due to the number of wildfires we've seen caused by illegal burns, endangering homes and lives, and firefighter injuries, I have consulted with County Judge Lisa Brown who is in agreement with implementing a zero tolerance policy on illegal burns. Help save lives and property. Delay any outdoor burning until the burn ban is lifted. Report any outdoor burning to law enforcement authorities. Thank you.
