In many residential programs, therapists carry 10 or more clients at once. That’s 10 or more families to coordinate with, multiple crises to manage, and countless hours of documentation and communication — all competing for time and focus. A low client-to-therapist ratio ensures that your teen or young adult receives the personalized attention they need.

At Capstone, we have the lowest client to therapist ratio in the country (2:1). Allowing our therapists to stay deeply connected with each client and their family throughout treatment.

Some residential programs offer as little as one hour of individual therapy per week. Without a meaningful increase in therapeutic depth and frequency, it’s unlikely to create the breakthrough needed for lasting change.

We're proud to share that Dr. Adrian Hickmon has been named one of Arkansas' Most Influential Leaders for 2025 in Arkansas Business.

Born and raised in Arkansas, Dr. Hickmon has poured himself into working with adolescents and their families as a coach, teacher, clinician, and supervisor for over 40 years. Adrian is the creator of the Core Systems Model used across Capstone Wellness services.

Dr. Hickmon has presented internationally on addictions, trauma, and marriage. He founded Capstone Treatment Center in 2001, a residential treatment center in central Arkansas that has worked with thousands of young men and their families across the country.

Adrian also serves as Executive Director of The Capstone Foundation. He and his wife Joanna have been married over 50 years and are the proud parents of two daughter, twin sons, and eight grandchildren.
