Dr. Fitzgerald is a family medicine physician specializing in sports medicine. She is the only fellowship trained primary care sports medicine provider in Southeast Alaska and one of a handful in our state. She has a passion for movement and treating athletes of all ages. She specializes in diagnosis and non-operative treatment of acute musculoskeletal injuries, fracture care, relative-energy deficiency in sport and concussions. She also offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to accelerate healing in joints, tendons, and muscles.

Another amazing testimony for the benefits of Fascial Counterstrain!

If you have questions on this super awesome manual therapy technique, send me a dm, and I will gladly share some specific resources with you.

*It is different and more advanced than myofascial release, and is definitely not the excruciatingly painful Fascial Distortion Model.

I’ve been told that I love Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) a lot! Maybe a little too much.

But how could I not?

The results I see from the application of FCS keep blowing my mind.

This is a case of a fit female who sustained a distal tibia and fibula fracture in early January. While she did not require surgery, she had to wear a cast for a few weeks.

I had seen her a couple of times to help her with the issues affecting her as result of the injury and moving around in crutches and a cast. I wasn’t prepared for what the removal of the cast would reveal.

She sent me the picture 9 hours before her session. I huffed upon seeing the image. I knew I’d have my hands full. To her credit, she takes excellent care of her health and her body responded quite well, so much so that I only needed one hour when I had initially thought I’d need at least 90 minutes.

She reached out this morning, about 15 hours after her session, to let me know how much better she was feeling and how much better her ankle looked. The images say it all. I’ve been in the Counterstrain field since 2012. Even after all these years, the results never cease to amaze me.

Yes, I do love FCS, maybe a little too much ...

But how could I not?

Dimond Park Field House will offer Chair Yoga every Monday and Wednesday from from 1 - 2 p.m. beginning February 2. General admission rates apply and winter passes are accepted. Chair Yoga provides all the benefits of regular yoga without getting on the floor!

All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary.
