Dr. Eugene Huang is a board certified physician, on-site daily, and available to meet with patients and their family throughout the course of treatment. He leads an integrated team of physicists, dosimetrists, and therapists to ensure the proper delivery of care and works closely with each patient's primary care physician and other specialists to provide a coordinated, comprehensive care plan for each patient. The team at Southeast Radiation Oncology Center is committed to providing H.O.P.E. to patients through a Healing environment, fostered by Open communication, a Patient servant centered approach and Excellence in clinical care. We utilize an Elekta Synergy linear accelerator, an all-digital treatment system, which enables our physicians to deliver a faster, more accurate treatment, with the least amount of radiation affecting healthy tissue.

🫁“We used to think lung cancer only affected smokers. Today, up to 20% of people diagnosed have never smoked. Radon exposure, wildfire smoke, and secondhand smoke all play a role, especially in Alaska.” -Dr. Michael Green, AROC Radiation Oncologist

🎗November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death in both Alaska and the United States, but it doesn’t have to be. When found early, lung cancer is one of the most treatable cancers.

🩵A low-dose CT scan can detect lung cancer before symptoms appear. Early detection isn’t just medical, it’s personal. It saves lives.

🎗Here in Alaska, breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women. Each year, nearly 400 women in our state receive this diagnosis.
🩷We know that early screening saves lives, that’s why mammograms and timely follow-up care make all the difference. ✨At the Cancer Screening Day at the Alaska State Fair this past August, 17 mammograms were performed. Of those, 5 women required some form of follow-up after a non-negative test. What an incredible reminder of just how important screening truly is.
🩷Our clinics are here to provide compassionate, expert care for those facing breast cancer, and to walk beside patients and families every step of the way. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let’s honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember those we’ve lost.
