ShaktiShiva Massage & Yoga

ShaktiShiva Massage & Yoga Utilizing the body and mind, ShaktiShiva empowers you to improve your whole self by creating awareness, inner peace and strength Hi, my name is Katie Schliepp!

I fell in love with massage by the young age of 15, and knew it would be my career path. Being an athlete at that time in my life, and receiving an occasional massage, I was able to experience, first-hand, the benefits that came with it. Exceeding far beyond the trademarks of stress-relief and relaxation, massage therapy can also relieve pain, improve overall athletic performance, and help general

movement in everyday life. Massage therapy is a natural approach compared to the potentially dangerous alternative of medication that can mask an underlying problem. Along with receiving my massage license from Lakeside School of Massage, I have completed many CEU workshops. Among those workshops, there were 3 areas that really caught my attention: Posturology (the relationship between how the body affects posture), Aromaology (the science of using essential oils), and Deep-Tissue Therapy (focuses on releasing pain-causing trigger points in the body). I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) since 2006, and have chosen to help people improve themselves even further. That’s why I have implemented yoga into my teachings. Yoga not only helps heal the mind, but along with massage therapy, it can improve your overall way of life. Improving one’s self is a life-long journey. There is no quick-fix, just a steady balance. My goal is to continue to educate people on how to truly improve themselves inside and out through the power of massage and yoga. Being happy and pain-free begins on the inside. Namaste

From a young age, I have always known I was meant to help people improve themselves inside and out. Being an athlete, I found that massage had so much more to offer than just relaxation and stress relief and by the young age off 15 I knew massage therapy was how I wanted to help others. I graduated from massage school in 2006 and began my path to helping others. The human body and how it moves has always fascinated me and when I was ready to add another tool to my belt of offerings I chose yoga because of its complimentary benefits to massage. I knew from personal experience yoga helped the body similarly to massage in the way of injury prevention, recovery, and performance enhancement, but it wasn't until I began my yoga teacher training in 2016 that I truly understood the wholeness of Yoga, that not only is it a great workout but it also heals you from the inside. Learning this changed my life and I now love being able to share the teachings of yoga with others so they too can benefit from it. Shortly after becoming a yoga teacher I took a Myofascial Release(MFR) workshop and when I learned that there is a connection between the mind and the body through your fascia I finally saw a way I could treat people both inside and out simultaneously. Between massage, yoga, and MFR I have the perfect trio of tools to help people improve themselves inside and out.

I graduated from Lakeside School of Massage Therapy in 2006. My main areas of continuing education include Aromaology, Posturology and Deep Tissue work. Massage is my first love and I find it completely rewarding helping people relax from their daily schedule.

I am a 200-hour registered yoga teacher through Copper Tree’s Hope School of Yoga. I like to say I am ‘the regular persons’ yoga teacher. An athlete that fell in love with yoga, I focus on functional poses and simple sequences with an occasional challenge pose that will keep your body mobile and strong. I always offer variations and tools to help you access the pose that is right for you and your body.

I study Myofascial Release under John F. Barnes. I have taken MFR 1 and I have worked alongside John, personally, in his weeklong Skills Enhancement Seminar. I plan to continue my studies in MFR because I see this modality as the true holistic approach to any issue (mind or body) that arises.
