The LPN program is held over two semesters and once complete, an individual can sit for a national examination and achieve licensure. With licensure, the LPN can provide direct care to patients and provide health teaching to clients in many settings. LPNs often assist registered nurses in more complex, non-routine care. Typical duties include taking vital signs, administering prescribed medications, giving injections, preparing patients for medical examinations and surgical procedures, and recording information in the patient’s medical record.

Angela Davis has been appointed as the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Ms. Davis is scheduled to begin in her role on June 23, 2025.

“Angela’s passion for financial stewardship and desire to support mission-driven, community-led healthcare showed through in her on campus interviews,” said Joe Wanner, Bartlett’s Chief Executive Officer. “She has extensive experience in healthcare finances, and I am confident in her abilities to help ensure Bartlett continues to strategically improve its financial performance and sustainability and deliver high-quality services to the region.”

Last call! The Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation is accepting applications through May 23rd for the Grace and Phil Edelman Health Sciences Scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year. Application requirements and supporting information is available online at brhfoundation.org/scholarships or by calling the Foundation at (907) 463-5704.

Scholarships are awarded to eligible applicants seeking Health Sciences professional degrees at accredited educational institutions. Applicants shall demonstrate both outstanding academic performance and leadership among their peers, and an intent to return to Southeast Alaska to practice.

We hope to see you tonight at the open house for Bartlett Orthopedic Specialists, Juneau’s new orthopedic clinic, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The clinic is located at 3250 Hospital Drive on the backside of the hospital campus across the parking lot from the Emergency Department entrance. Community members planning to attend the open house who are able-bodied are asked to park on the front side of campus where more parking is available and follow the walking path signs to the clinic.

During tonight's open house, community members will be able to walk through the new clinic space, speak with the surgeons, and learn more about specialty orthopedic services available locally. We look forward to seeing you soon!
