Juneau Friends!

This free family friendly event is open to all!

Save the date: Saturday, August 23rd, 2025
Time: 3-6pm
Place: Amalga Meadows Park

Gather your friends and neighbors for an afternoon of food, music, and outdoor fun at the Eagle Valley Center in Amalga Meadows Park (24600 Amalga Harbor Road) on Saturday, August 23 from 3 - 6 p.m. as Juneau Parks & Recreation teams up with SAIL/ORCA, Jared Lee DDS, and Juneau Audubon Society to bring you Community Day.

Bring your appetite for hamburgers, hot dogs, and treats from local favorites. After you eat, join in the lawn games, explore the nearby trails, take a bird walk with the Juneau Audubon Society, or try the high ropes Challenge Course (first-come, first-served).

The afternoon will also feature live music from Nina Edwards, Cherie Bowman, and The Band Rice Field—the perfect soundtrack to a summer day in Amalga Meadows.

This free, family-friendly event is open to all. Come picnic, play, and celebrate our community together!

ORCA was donated an incredible fishing charter with , and WHAT A DAY! Huge thank you and shoutout to Local Guy Charters and their amazing crew on the Nirvana for making it such a fun, welcoming, and inclusive adventure for our participants.

The weather? Perfect.
The crew? Fantastic.
The fish? Let’s just say… dinner is sorted for a while!
