Behind the scenes of mobile therapy 🚗

A lot goes on before we ever arrive at your door.

Today was all about getting our therapy bins organized and ready to go into the cars. Being a mobile clinic means bringing the clinic with us, so every bin has a purpose.

For our pelvic health clients, that might mean plinths, TENS units, and other tools we use to support pelvic floor therapy.

For our kiddos, you’ll find things like bubbles, board games, sensory tools, and activities that turn therapy into play.

Whether we’re meeting you at home, at the park, or somewhere in the community, we make sure everything we need is packed and ready so sessions can be functional, engaging, and tailored to you.

Mobile therapy means meeting people where they are, in every sense of the word. 💙

We’re excited to welcome Ryan Salmon, OTD, EHCM to the Therapeutic Health and Home Southeast Alaska team!

Based out of Haines, Ryan will be supporting our growing pediatric services across Juneau and Southeast Alaska, working with children and families to help kids build the skills they need to participate more fully in everyday life. His work focuses on helping children develop independence, confidence, and functional abilities through therapy that supports development, play, learning, and daily routines.

Ryan has a strong interest in accessibility, assistive technology, and inclusive environments, and brings a thoughtful, creative approach to helping children access the tools and supports they need to thrive at home, in school, and in their communities.

Nordic skiing is one of our favorite Alaska activities because it sneaks in a full-body workout without feeling like a workout:
– Core working
– Hips firing
– Arms pushing
– Balance constantly adjusting
– Nervous system calming down with every glide

Yesterday we had the opportunity to sit down with someone we’ve long admired in the pelvic health world and talk all things pelvic therapy.

We had an honest conversation about building THH, stepping into pelvic health as a new therapist, and what it looks like to move forward in a field that can feel intimidating at times. Growth rarely happens when you feel fully ready, and we shared what it’s been like to be scared and to do it anyway.
