Dr. Twila Taylor is a Florida Licensed Psychologist with over 30 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, couples and families. roblematic behavior has on the entire family. She is direct and straightforward in her approach yet can connect with even the most difficult teens. Therapy will also focus on identifying and building strengths and reducing risk factors. Dr. Taylor rrceived a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Taylor’s predoctoral work was completed at LSU Medical Center, New Orleans, LA and her postdoctoral work at Youth Services Highridge Family Center in West Palm Beach, FL. Dr. Taylor’s is currently the Division Director of Residential Treatment and Family Counseling, her clinical experience includes managing a 60 bed residential treatment program, provision of inpatient and outpatient individual, family and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention and management, and work in inpatient adolescent and adult psychiatric hospital units.

OPEN POSITION FOR PSYCHOLOGIST Palm Beach County Youth Services Department-Highridge Family Center Salary: $72,725 Annually (plus benefits including insurance and retirement contributions with the Florida Retirement System) Location: Highridge Family Center, 4200 N. Australian Avenue, WPB Hours: 9:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday – Thursday Requirements: Must be a Florida licensed psychologist Must have clinical experience with children/adolescents and families Must pass a Level 2 Background Check Highridge Family Center is a 60-bed residential voluntary facility serving youth between the ages of 11 and 16. Services are free of charge for families who reside in Palm Beach County. Typically, the families seeking services through Highridge have been struggling with conflicted family relations, poor academics, drug experimentation, poor peer group choices, minor law infractions, and emotional difficulties. In conjunction with the School District of Palm Beach County, residents of Highridge are provided alternative education while they are enrolled in the program. Referral sources include schools, parents, prevention and diversion programs, as well as former clients. The residents live at the facility Monday through Friday, returning to their homes on weekends and school holidays to practice newly learned skills with their families. A staff therapist provides family, group, and individual therapy. In May 2019, Highridge was certified by the Sanctuary Institute for its trauma-informed service offerings. The current psychologist position’s main responsibilities are to expand trauma-informed care programming and provide clinical supervision. Highridge will be seeking reaccreditation by the Sanctuary Institute in May 2022 and is looking for a dynamic and creative psychologist to coordinate these efforts. This is not exclusively a direct service position. The desired psychologist will implement organizational and clinical trauma-informed concepts based on the Sanctuary Model. Organizing and conducting staff training and education at all programming levels is a major job responsibility. In addition, Highridge is part of Youth Services’ APA-accredited internship program, and the psychologist will provide individual and group supervision to staff and psychology graduate trainees. There is also an emphasis on maintaining and reviewing written and electronic documentation of services provided. There may be a small opportunity for direct clinical services as needed including the following: interpretation of psychological reports, family therapy, risk assessments, verbal de-escalation, and intake assessments. Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief of Residential Services who is a Licensed Psychologist and is reviewed through conferences and reports. Please note that currently services are being provided via a Telemental health platform. PREFERENCE FOR: Three (3) years of experience providing individual/family/group counseling and/or psychotherapy with children/adolescents; one (1) year of experience in a residential setting and providing clinical supervision to doctoral trainees; experience implementing and teaching trauma informed care practices; bilingual (Spanish/Creole). Palm Beach County Youth Services Department is looking for a FL Licensed Psychologist to work at Highridge Family Center, a 60 bed adolescent residential treatment center. A psychologist in this position would implement organizational and clinical trauma informed concepts, principles and interventions; engage staff in training and education at all programming levels; provides individual and group supervision to staff/doctoral psychology students at multiple levels of training; conducts in-service training.
