Introducing a new private pay option. In response to customer demand, MyNP has implemented a competitive self-pay option plan. After examining local ‘comparables’ and industry standards at the regional level; a competitive payment schedule has been put in place for patients that opt for private pay. Current rates shall be reevaluated on a yearly basis to adjust for inflation and local health care trends. An initial visit shall remain the baseline encounter. The patient should expect this visit to be very comprehensive and it will allow the patient to establish a much needed medication profile at their desired pharmacy. MyNP will furnish any documentation that the patient may so desire. Follow up visits shall be on a sliding scale rate and will be coordinated as that patient’s health status dictates. An invoice will be executed by the MyNP staff within 24 hours of service rendered. Please contact MyNP for more details and how this program differs, as well as coincides with, an insurance based visit.

MyNP continues to focus on disabled and home bound individuals who are Medicare eligible. The population base in Palm Beach County Florida is aging and growing, and more individuals are opting to stay in their own homes longer and return home following hospitalization, rather than proceeding to a nursing home. Our primary market continues to include patients -- typically in an older age bracket -- who require homebound health care services. Many of these patients require medication management with prescriptive authority, specialist referrals, referrals for skilled nursing, chronic disease management, hospice transition, palliative care, family therapy coordination, diagnostic imaging, lab draws, and a wealth of disease management specializations. More than 300,000 residents 65 or older live in Palm Beach County.

In 2013, Florida had 112,553 new residents aged 65 and older, nearly twice as many as California which had 57,443. As of the 2010, the population of Palm Beach County was 1,320,134 making it the third-most populous county in Florida. -- Source: U.S. Census.

MyNP commends the State of Florida lawmakers Friday for passing a bill allowing Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) and Physician Assistants (PA) to prescribe controlled substances, a long awaited measure that has been put before the legislature for 22 years.

Sponsored by Sebring Republican Rep. Cary Pigman, a physician, and Miami Shores Democratic Rep. Daphne Campbell, a nurse, HB 423 will make Florida the final state in the union to allow ARNPs to prescribe controlled drugs, such as painkillers or ADHD medicine.

The Senate passed the bill Friday, March 11, 2016 with a unanimous vote, requesting further clarification to the House with minor amendments by Republican Sen. Denise Grimsley, who is also a nurse. The chamber passed the bill 117-to-1, with Tampa Democratic Rep. Janet Cruz casting the lone vote against the bill.

HB 423 was sent to Gov. Rick Scott for signature.

Florida HB 325 & HB 423 are currently pending legislation in Tallahassee. The next several weeks will be a critical time for the passage of these important pieces of ground-breaking legislation. Those of us at MyNP, and ARNP's state wide, are greatly in need of your voices right now. Please take a moment to carefully consider these bills and contact your state legislator expressing your support.

The House and Senate will soon be voting on both bills. Our representatives are extremely close to passing these bills into law, but still need the additional public support for both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to have greater autonomy to practice in the State of Florida.

Florida is THE ONLY remaining state in the country that does not allow Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants any expanded prescriptive authority. In order for ARNP's and PA's to effectively meet the needs of the ever-growing senior population in our state, our privileges and scope of practice must be categorically expanded. Thank you for your careful consideration of this issue.

We honored to thank the Palm Beach County community for their continued support. Our growth rate over the last 3 months has confirmed our initial belief that Nurse Practitioner based primary care services in the home are a much needed service in our community.

MyNP Vision: To responsibly deliver well trusted community based In-Home healthcare that brings compassion and proactive personalized holistic care through a dedicated, caring, and highly skilled localized staff limited to the Palm Beach county area.

MyNP Core Values: MyNP is committed to demonstrating the following values in all our relationships with our community, caregivers, assisted living facilities, hospitals, physicians, payer sources; and most importantly the patient.

-- FAMILY: MyNP provides our patients and employees with a sense of trust and belonging.
-- COMPASSION: The infrastructure of my MyNP allows the provider to focus on the well-being and comfort of both the patient and their family members.
-- RESPONSIVENESS: The demographic division of MyNP allows the provider to effectively use local healthcare services in a timely and efficient manner. Our patients deserve a timely response to their healthcare needs as they arise.
-- PIONEERS: Not all healthcare must be delivered at a healthcare facility and/or clinic. We recognize that those that are most in need of healthcare services are those that have the most difficulty accessing it. These are the patients that are predominately in need of in-home primary care.
-- LOCAL: Palm Beach County, Florida is our home. We live here and act as good community stewards to bring quality and responsive primary in-home care to residents of Palm Beach County Florida.

Homebound Patient Definition - Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). 42 U.S.C. '1395n (a)(2)(F). The Current Homebound Definition in the Medicare Act reads as follows: An individual shall be considered to be “confined to his home” if the individual has a condition, due to an illness or injury, that restricts the ability of the individual to leave his or her home except with the assistance of another individual or the aid of a supportive device (such as crutches, a cane, a wheelchair or a walker), or if the individual has a condition such that leaving his or her home is medically contraindicated. Any other absence of an individual from the home shall not so disqualify an individual if the absence is of infrequent or of relatively short duration. For purposes of the preceding sentence, any absence for the purpose of attending a religious service shall be deemed to an absence of infrequent or short duration.
